7 Clinical Experiences Experiences can be in: Birth Centers Hospitals Clinics Homes Military facilities Other suggested sites are: Indian Health Service, Federally Qualified Health Centers Rural Health Clinics and more There are 19 credits of midwifery courses at Shenandoah University: Eleven of them are clinical credits and 8 are lecture credits.
8 + Special Note!! n Other professional education programs can inform students of the number of clinical hours required to complete the their courses... n not so with midwifery programs because: A word about clinical hours: n we learn to be with a women during labor and birth. These events can t be allotted to numbers of clinical hours, therefore: Once you start helping women deliver their babies (Spring Semester) your number of required hours will go to the number of required experiences e.g. the number of labors you attended, babies you helped women deliver, newborns you cared for, and
