They will be able to apply current knowledge to both established and new problems in their field. They will thus have been prepared for in-house tasks in particular. While more academic in approach compared with the corresponding Bachelor s program, the consecutive two-semester master s degree still has an application-oriented profile. Methodological and systematic expertise is an essential component of the teaching. Current research findings are tested for their applicability in practical professional situations. Building on the vocational bachelor qualification, the master s program in Business Administration and Engineering provides career options in staff functions and trainee management programs in large companies and similar prospects in an academic career. The industries in which graduates of this program will typically work include the automotive and mechanical engineering industry, electronics, the aeronautical industry, IT, services and consulting. Graduates will be employed for instance as product managers, project engineers, key account managers, logisticians, market researchers, sales representatives, or personnel managers. 2 semesters / 60 ECTS Bachelor s degree or other university degree that is considered at least equivalent in either of the fields of business administration, sales engineering or other fields that train engineers for work in the industry, provided that the applicant can prove knowledge in cost accounting, financing, logistics, quality management, marketing, and computer science at 5 ECTS each. The study program should correspond to 240 credits according to ECTS, with an evaluation of at least B or an overall grade of 2.3. Graduates holding a bachelor s degree with a workload of 180 ECTS only are required to pass 60 ECTS worth of additional courses from the HsKA bachelor s program. Bonus points are awarded for: professional activity, scientific activity, practical experience, exceptional credits in subject areas that have particular relevance for the master program. English skills (TOEFL 560/220/83 or equivalent). Students from abroad: proof of satisfactory knowledge of German. Results achieved in theory or practical courses of an academic degree program at a recognized higher education institution can be transferred to HsKA according to ECTS recognition procedures upon express request, if the Board of Examiners acknowledges these results to be comparable in terms of level, subject content and extent. Relevant job experience amounting to at least 1 year following a 6- semester bachelor s degree can be evaluated by the Admissions Committee as being equivalent to a seventh semester, in accordance with the EU Commission s plans to introduce an European Qualification Framework.
