The study program has both a broad basis of foundation courses and a wide range of specialization courses, the content of which is continuously updated to match current trends and developments. The goal of the study program comprises a solid mathematical and electrical engineering basic training, general training as an electrical engineer, thorough expertise in the key technologies of communication and information technology, a scientific approach to work and the ability to think abstractly about technical processes, practical work experience, and both working independently and communicating effectively in a team. Graduates in Communications Engineering and Information Technology develop communication systems and networks as well as informationprocessing systems, for instance in automotive technology, automation technology, aerospace engineering, the hardware and software industry, medical technology, telecommunications, and systems for measurement and control. 7 semesters or 7x30 = 210 ECTS Not required General or subject-specific university entrance qualification or comparable entrance qualification. Ranking is created using the university entrance qualification grades and weighted grades for the individual subjects of mathematics, German (or appropriate language for a foreign entrance qualification), English, physics/electrical engineering. Bonus points are awarded for a vocational qualification in a relevant apprenticed trade. For students from abroad: proof of satisfactory knowledge of German.
