Option of taking the Franco-German study program in cooperation with ENSMM Besançon: The semester spent abroad at the partner university as part of the Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering & Mechatronics is recognized towards a dual degree (M.Sc. at HsKA and Ingénieur diplômé from ENSMM). Educational and professional goals: The applied degree program in Mechanical Engineering is divided into four main focal points. The major is chosen in the fourth semester and offers students the chance to select the specialization option most suited to them. The specialization in construction and production offer a more broad-based training, whereas the other majors provide for a greater specialization in vocational training. The fifth semester of studies is an internship, in which students gain their first experiences in industry. A mechanical engineer s profession comprises the production and application of machines and process-engineering apparatus of all kinds. Development, construction, manufacture, installation, and sales are all part of the production process; application consists of the planning and maintenance of machine and technical systems. Job description Program duration: As a mechanical engineer you develop and apply equipment and systems of all types; that means the design, manufacture, assembly and finally the sales of machines. If you are responsible for the field of application, you take care of quality assurance and product monitoring. Depending on interest, you can also work in project management, as a consultant for technical installations, in the management or research and development departement. So, the areas of responsibility are diverse and wide-ranging. You often experience during your studies or your practical semester, whether you tend towards one or the other direction. The major fields of study design and production have traditionally a strong position for the regional industry. When focusing on refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental technology engineers are educated who know about refrigeration and air conditioning systems one because of the automation and energy saving interesting branch. The focus of the vehicle technology is available since the merger with the automotive engineering. 7 semesters or 7x30 = 10 ECTS Pre-study work experience: Conditions of admission: Traineeship semester: Start of program: 1 weeks / 3 months General or subject-specific university entrance qualification or comparable entrance qualification. Ranking is created using the university entrance qualification grades for the individual subjects of mathematics, German (or appropriate language for a foreign entrance qualification), English, physics/chemistry. Bonus points are awarded for a vocational qualification or a related one-year professional experience. For students from abroad: proof of satisfactory knowledge of German.
