1 FACULTY NORMS PRESCRIBED BY THE NCTE FOR VARIOUS COURSES (1) B.Ed. Intake: There shall be a basic unit of one hundred students divided into two sections of fifty each for general sessions and not more than twenty five students per teacher for a school subjects courses and other practical activities of the programme to facilitate participatory teaching and learning. Number of academic posts required: (for a basic unit of 100 students) Principal 1 Lecturers 7 1 Principal / Head (In Multi faculty Institution) 2. Lecturer 1 (foundation course) 3 Lecturer -6 (Methodology courses) Academic and professional qualifications will be as prescribed for the post of Lecturer. Ph.D in Education Note: In the event of nonavailability of eligible and suitable candidates for appointment as Principal/Head as per above eligibility criteria, it would be permissible to appoint retired Principal/Head in Physical Education on contract basis for a period non exceeding 1 year at a time till such time the candidates complete 65 years of age. M.Ed /M.Ed(elementary) with 55%marks or its equivalent grade. Masters Degree in Science Humanities / Arts with 50% marks. by the UGC/affiliating body/state Govt. from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers shall be mandatory. OR B.Ed with at least 55% marks. Master Degree in any school teaching subject with 50% marks. M.Ed Degree with atleast 55% marks. OR its equivalent grade. by the UGC/affiliating body/state Govt. from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers shall be mandatory. 10 years teaching experience out of which at least 5 years teaching experience in Secondary Teacher Education Institution.

Master Degree in Physical Education with 55%marks. Note:- At least one lecturer should have specialization in ICT and another in the special education. Bachelor s Degree in Library and Information Science with 55% marks. As prescribed by State Government / UT Administration concerned. (2) Language Pandits (Telugu/Urdu/Hindi) Intake: There shall be a basic unit of 50 students, for each year. In some colleges the intake is 60 and 100 also. Number of academic posts required: (for a basic unit of 50 students) Principal 1 Lecturers 6 For additional intake of fifty students, the additional staff shall comprise five full time lecturers, one Library Assistant and one Office Assistant. However on each occasion additional intake of one basic unit shall be considered and the total number of students combined for all teacher education courses shall not exceed three hundred 1 Principal (principal one Academic and professional 5 years experience of among the Sl.No.2&3) qualifications will be as teaching in primary or prescribed for the post of teacher education Lecturer institution. 2. OR M.A Philosophy / Psychology/Sociology. Diploma / Degree in Elementary Education Proficiency in the use of ICT for educational purpose. Methodology Master Degree in concerned language with 55%marks. Diploma/Degree in concerned language / Primary Education with 55% marks. Diploma / Degree in Elementary Education. Proficiency in the use of ICT for educational purpose. P.G in Fine arts / Music / Dance with 55%marks. Diploma / Degree in Education. Master Degree (M.P.Ed) in Physical Education with 55%marks. Degree in ECE Education. At least One Lecturer should possess formal qualification in computer science / applications besides the prescribed academic and professional qualifications. 7 Librarian 1 (Full Time) Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science with 55% marks. 8 Administrative Staff UDC/Office Superintendent 1 Regular Computer Operator cum Store Keeper 1 Regular M.Ed., Intake:- As prescribed by State Government / UT Administration concerned. There shall be a basic unit of twenty five students. Intake upto total fifty students shall be sanctioned to such proven institutions where the quality of infrastructure, both physical and human are of high degree which can be vouched.

4 Number (For a basic unit of 25 students) Professor / Head One Reader / Associate Professor One Lecturer / Asst Professor Three 1 Professor / Head - 1 Master s Degree in arts/humanities/ Sciences/ Commerce and M.Ed each with a minimum of 55% marks. OR M.A (Education) with 55% marks and B.Ed each with a minimum of 55% marks. Ph.D in Education and Note: In the event of nonavailability of eligible and suitable candidates for appointment as Principal/Head as per above eligibility criteria, it would be permissible to appoint retired Principal/Head in Physical Education on contract basis for a period non exceeding 1 year at a time till such time the candidates complete 65 years of age. 2. Reader / Professor 1 Masters Degree in Arts/ Humanities/ Sciences/ Commerce and M.Ed each with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade OR M.A (Education) and B.Ed each with a minimum of 55% marks. Ph.D in Education and 3 Lecturer -3 Masters Degree in Arts/ Humanities/ Sciences/ Commerce and M.Ed each with a minimum of 55% marks or its equivalent grade OR M.A (Education) and B.Ed each with a minimum of 55% marks and by the UGC/affiliating body/state Govt. from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers shall be mandatory. Note: It is desirable that one faculty member possesses Master s Degree in Psychology and another member in Philosophy/Sociology besides M.Ed. 4 Technical Support Staff As per the norms prescribed by the University/ State Government. At least 12 years of teaching experience in University department of education or College of Education of which a minimum of 5 years at the M.Ed level with published work in the area of his specialization. At least 8 years of teaching experience in University department of education or College of Education of which a minimum of 3 years at the M.Ed level with published work in the area of his specialization.

5 5 Administrative Staff As per the norms prescribed by the University/ State Government. B.P.Ed., Intake: There shall be a basic unit of one hundred (100) students with two sections of fifty each. 1 Principal / Head - 1 Master s Degree in Physical 10 years teaching Education with 55% or its experience out of equivalent grade i.e. B in the which 5 years seven point scale of letter grades experience in a O,A,B,C,D,E,F. Lecturer 8 1 Lecturer should either be with MBBS degree or Masters Degree or Masters Degree in Anatomy, Physiotherapy or Health Education and the remaining 7 Lecturers should be in Physical Education 3 Sports Trainers:- 3 (Part Time) 4 Technical Support Staff Librarian 1 Physiotherapist 1 Ground Men/Markers/Helpers 2 Music Teacher/Band Master 1 (Part-Time) ICT Instructor 1 (Part Time) Technical Assistant 1 (Part-Time) M.P.Ed degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade and by the UGC/affiliating body/state Govt. from time to time for the positions of principal and lecturers shall be mandatory. Bachelor Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed., B.Sc (PEHES) with specialization in at least in one of the specified sport or game. Diploma in Coaching with be desirable. As prescribed by concerned State Government, affiliating University / UGC.

Ed., Intake:- There shall be a basic unit of 50 students, for each year. 1 Principal - 1 Academic and Professional 5 years teaching qualifications will be as experience as Lecturer prescribed for the post of Lecturer. in Physical Education Training Institution. 2. Lecturer 6 M.P.Ed degree with at least 55% marks or B.P.Ed with at least 55% marks. 3 Sports Trainers:- (Part Time) Bachelor Degree in Physical Education with specialization in at least in one game /sport. 8 years teaching experience as Physical Instructor or any other nomenclature at school level in recognized Elementary School. 4 Technical Support Staff Librarian 1 Physiotherapist 1 Ground Men/Markers/Helpers 2 Music Teacher/Band Master 1 (Part-Time) ICT Instructor 1 (Part Time) Technical Assistant 1 (Part-Time) 5 Administrative Staff Office Assistant (with knowledge of working with computers) 1 Store-Keeper 1 Helpers/attendants 2 Technical Assistant (Computer) - 1 As prescribed by concerned State Government, affiliating University / UGC. As prescribed by concerned State Government, affiliating University / UGC. Concerned Universities are approving staff members of M.Ed., B.Ed., B.P.Ed., U.G.D.P.Ed., course. The staff of Language Pandit Training Colleges staff are approved by the Director, SCERT, Andhra Pradesh., Hyderabad.
