Developed new course proposal (Child and Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing [N638]); approved by the Graduate Curriculum Committee, 11/01. Evidence Based Nursing II (N761) - UH Department of Nursing: Developed a web-assisted version of this course in June 2001 (piloted during Spring Semester 2002). Disciplinary Knowledge I (N639) - UH Department of Nursing: Developed a web-assisted version of this course in June 2000 (piloted the course during the following semester). Undergraduate Psychiatric Nursing Curriculum - UH Department of Nursing (curriculum development/revision focused on the following courses: Professional Nursing III: Mental Health [N435]; Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing [N371]; Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Lab [N371L]; Psychosocial Nursing [N310]): Revised N371 and N371L in spring These revisions reflected the Department of Nursing s move away from an inquiry-based curriculum and the establishment of separate lab/clinical and lecture courses in what had previously been one integrated course. [I also taught the first semester of the revised N371 in Fall 1998, during which time the class achieved a percentile score of 78 on the NLN Mental Health Achievement Test--a standardized measure of knowledge in this subject area--compared with usual scores in the 40s and 50s.] Revised N435 in spring and fall in conjunction with a course development task force--to reflect the Department of Nursing s faculty decision to change this course from the senior level to the junior level. The revised course became N371. Assisted in developing N310, through a course development task force of the mental health specialty group, during the spring and summer, 1994 (included surveying the general nursing faculty regarding topics to include in this course). Developed evaluation tools for mental status exams, process recordings and client data sheets used in N435 (Professional Nursing III: Mental Health), N371, and N371L. Developed and revised case studies for an inquiry-based teaching-learning approach used in N435 and N of 31
