5 Before you start your course with us, whether you are a returning student or new, you need to do the following four steps. STEP 1 Confirming your place All students must complete and return the Reply Slip which is enclosed with your unconditional offer or leadmissions@uhi.ac.uk. Why? Returning the Reply Slip confirms your place on the course and then allows you to access the online enrolment process. STEP 2 Organise your funding Full-time students Scottish and EU students are eligible to apply for funding from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). You have to apply for your fees and can choose to apply for living costs funding as well through them. Please access the SAAS website at where you can apply online. If you require any assistance with your online application, please contact Kate Mawby, Student Support Services Manager on or lestudentservices@uhi.ac.uk. Students based in the rest of the UK can apply to their appropriate funding body. Please bring your SAAS Award Notice with you on your first day. This year, your award notice will be available as a download from SAAS. We need to be able to see a copy of it. Failure to produce this may result in a delay in your enrolment onto the course. If you are not eligible for funding, you need to pay your fees on your first day otherwise your enrolment will be delayed. 5
6 Part-time students Please bring payment for your course with you on your first day. To apply for a Part-time Fee Grant you must be studying between credits and have an income of less than 25,000. Your application must be in place within 3 months of your course start date. For further information on how to apply visit the SAAS website at If you intend to use ILA (SDS Individual Learning Account) towards your course fees, your ILA Account must be in place prior to enrolment, otherwise please bring payment with you. For more information or to apply visit the SDS ILA website at To arrange payment of fees or if you require further information, please contact Donna Graham, Finance Assistant on or donna.graham@uhi.ac.uk. STEP 3 Enrol online before starting your course All UHI HE students are required to online enrol for their course. The enrolment tool is available through UHI Records and must be completed prior to the first day of your course. You will receive an with instructions on how to go about using the online enrolment tool from mid-july onward keep an eye out for it!
