RWE Innogy UK TRITON KNOLL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CONSULTATION: QUESTIONNAIRE The Planning Act 2008 requires developers to undertake pre-application consultation before submitting an application for a Development Consent Order (DCO). This questionnaire is part of our community consultation under s47 of the Planning Act We have described how we will consult with the public and other consultees in our Statement of Community Consultation, which was consulted on with Lincolnshire County Council, East Lindsey District Council, Boston Borough Council and the Marine Management Organisation. Please use the Consultation Signpost Document to understand the different documents that are available to help you respond to the consultation. The responses we receive to this consultation will help shape our proposals before we apply for a Development Consent Order to the Secretary of State. How to participate Please answer as many of the questions in this questionnaire as you feel able to. You can also complete a questionnaire online by downloading the editable version available from How to respond Any responses made must include contact information including a name and an address to which any correspondence relating to the consultation can be sent. Your comments will be made public in a consultation report. The report will record comments received and explain how the views of consultees have been considered in finalising the application. This report will form part of our application for development consent. Please respond by returning the completed questionnaire using this freepost address: FREE POST RTBK-ABSH-TGLU Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm RWE Innogy UK, Auckland House, Lydiard Fields, Great Western Way, Swindon SN5 8ZT The consultation runs from 15 October until 19 November Please note that consultation responses must be received by 5pm on 19 November If you would like this questionnaire in larger print or in another format, please contact us on:

QUESTIONNAIRE SECTION 1 THE LANDFALL The landfall at Anderby Creek is where the offshore and onshore electricity cables are joined in the transition joint bays. Construction activities are likely to have the following impacts: temporary visual and noise impacts from vehicles and machinery temporary beach closures temporary increases in construction traffic. Further detail can be found in the Non-Technical Summary (NTS) of the Preliminary Environmental Information (PEI). Chapter 5 (Onshore Project Description) and Chapter 13 (Traffic and Access) of the Environmental Statement (ES) set out principles that could be applied to the management and the Outline Traffic Management Plan of construction activities. The following measures have been identified for the landfall works. These include: traffic management of construction vehicles to minimise congestion and impacts on local roads alternative pedestrian access for beach users set working hours that minimise impacts on the local community by limiting evening and weekend working. A. To what extent do you agree that the construction principles set out above will reduce the potential impacts? Please tick box B. Would you suggest any additional measures to reduce construction impacts? SECTION 2 ONSHORE CABLE INSTALLATION The onshore electrical cables will be buried underground, avoiding the need for overhead pylons. The cable route has been defined considering environmental and technical factors and also by consulting with landowners and the public as part of our Cable Route Consultation held during February and March The following measures have been proposed: where possible, locating the cable route a minimum distance of 70m from residential dwellings a burial depth below existing identified land drains to reduce impacts on farming activities avoiding environmental and archaeological constraints where possible. Further detail can be found in the NTS.

The Onshore Project Description Chapter and the outline Code of Construction Practice Document (CoCP) set out the following principles for how we propose to manage the construction activities when building the cable route. These include: Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) under roads, railways and larger watercourses a dedicated temporary haul road along the cable route to reduce traffic on local roads restoration after completion and the land returned to its former use. A. To what extent do you agree that the construction principles set out above will reduce the impacts of cable installation? B. Would you suggest any additional measures to reduce disruption? SECTION 3 THE INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL COMPOUND (IEC) AND THE ONSHORE ELECTRICITY SUBSTATION (SUBSTATION) The IEC and Substation contain electrical equipment that is necessary for the transmission of electricity from the offshore array and connection of the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm to the national grid. The photomontages and other designs displayed at the public exhibitions and in the ES show what the infrastructure could look like from certain viewpoints. We have identified a set of principles that will be applied to the final design of the IEC and the Substation in the Design Considerations Document. Our landscaping principles include the following: a 50m area available for landscaping around the IEC and the Substation planting would begin during construction to allow screening to become established a mixture of slow and fast growing native species are proposed. A. Which do you think is the most appropriate screening for the Substation and IEC? Please tick box Substation A mixture of slow and fast growing native species Fast growing non-native species No screening IEC A mixture of slow and fast growing native species Fast growing non-native species No screening B. Do you have any other comments about our landscaping and screening principles?

C. Design options for the buildings and noise barriers at the IEC and Substation can be seen in the Design Considerations Document. What do you think is the most appropriate design for the IEC and Substation? Please tick box Substation Local vernacular (brick or stone) Modern design (wood cladding) Modern design (metal cladding) Modern design Noise barriers Pale grey Khaki Gradated green No preference IEC Local vernacular (brick or stone) Modern design (wood cladding) Modern design (metal cladding) Modern design Noise barriers Pale grey Khaki Gradated green No preference Do you have any other suggestions? SECTION 4 MANAGING CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC Following comments about our access proposals during our Alternatives Consultation held during February and April 2013, and during the Parish Council update meetings in March and April 2014, we have modified our access proposals at the IEC to avoid the village of Orby and at the Substation to avoid the village of Bicker. A. Do you think that our alternative access proposals will reduce the impacts of construction traffic when compared to the original routes planned through the villages of Bicker and Orby? Please tick box The outline Traffic Management Plan sets out the main principles of managing traffic during construction of the project. These include: Horizontal Directional Drilling to avoid road closures notifications of roads to be used and when safety and traffic management measures to be put in place roads we will avoid. B. To assist us in developing a final Traffic Management Plan to minimise disruption, are there any specific additional measures you would suggest to reduce traffic impacts during construction, and why?

SECTION 5 MANAGING IMPACTS ON ECOLOGY The Landscape and Ecological Mitigation Strategy, which forms part of Chapter 6 (Landscape and Visual), sets out how we will manage impacts on ecology during construction, including: avoiding hedgerows and other sensitive habitats undertaking pre-construction surveys to avoid protected species ensuring best practice construction management techniques are used to reduce the risk of contamination of watercourses Project Ecologists overseeing environmentally-sensitive activities. A. To what extent do you agree that the principles set out will reduce ecological impacts? Please tick box B. Would you suggest any additional measures to reduce impacts? SECTION 6 THE OFFSHORE CABLE ROUTE The NTS and Offshore Project Description Chapter of the ES describe the key design principles which have shaped the offshore cable route, including: avoiding sensitive ecological areas minimising the amount of rock or concrete mattressing that will be required to protect the cable by routing the cable through areas of the seabed where the required burial depth can be achieved avoiding dredging areas reducing impacts on fishermen and other sea users. A. To what extent do you agree that we have captured the important issues for the offshore elements of the proposed electrical system? Please tick box B. Is there any other information about the offshore cable route you think we should consider?

SECTION 7 THE CONSULTATION A. How were you informed about the Triton Knoll Electrical System Consultation? Please tick box Newsletter Newspaper advert Local media other B. Have you found the public exhibitions helpful in answering questions or concerns you may have had? Please tick box Yes No C. Was the information available in the consultation documents and at the exhibitions helpful in answering questions or concerns you may have had? Please tick box Yes No D. If you would like to be kept up to date with the project, how would you like us to contact you? Please tick box Newsletter E. Do you have any other comments on the consultation or our proposals? (You can continue on a separate sheet for any of the questions)
