Conditions 2 and 3 We wish to submit details of the proposed external surface materials refer to the enclosed schedule. Physical samples have been delivered to your office via recorded delivery for consideration and acceptance. Condition 4 With reference to the above condition l enclose a drawing indicating the extent of the construction compound wherein all demolition, storage of materials and construction will take place. The compound boundary will be fenced as indicated to provide protection to existing trees to be retained. In addition as cited in Condition 4, we wish to demonstrate compliance with the guidance in BS 5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction with the following clarifications. With reference to section 6 Barriers and ground protection... All trees that are being retained on site will be protected by barriers and/or ground protection. With reference to due to site constraints, construction activity cannot be fully excluded the entire tree s RPA, therefore appropriate ground protection will be installed. Furthermore it must be noted, there is an existing hard surface within the RPA of these trees. Once installed, barriers and ground protection will not be removed or altered until the compound is due to be removed. With reference to we confirm the proposed barrier specification as follows. Barrier to consist of 2m tall welded mesh panels on concrete feet to provide an adequate level of protection from cars, vans, pedestrians and manually operated plant. The fence panels will be joined together using a minimum of two antitamper couplers, installed so that they can only be removed from

2 inside the fence. The distance between the fence couplers will be at least 1 m and will be uniform throughout the fence. Ground protection is not deemed necessary due to the existing hard surface. With reference to section 7 Demolition and construction in proximity to existing trees No demolition or construction will take place within the RPA of the lime tree avenue. Protective compound fencing will be erected on an existing permanent hard surface belonging to the car park. During construction existing ground levels will be retained and there will be no intrusion into the soil or excavation of the soil within the RPA There will be no piling or mechanical / services trenching within the RPA of these trees With reference to section 8.82 Working within the root protection area (RPA)... There will be no tree removal Temporary access is required for plant or vehicles within the RPA, this will take place on the existing hard surface and within the boundary of the fenced compound. Refer to enclosed drawing dr BCA Phase 3 - Sports Hall - A101 - Compound and Tree Protection for compound fencing / protective fencing locations. Condition 5 Noted and it is understood no information is required to be submitted in relation to these condition. Conditions 6 Details to follow Conditions 7 and 8 Noted and it is understood no information is required to be submitted in relation to these conditions. Conditions 9 and 11 Travel Plan and BREEAM assessment/certificate to be provided in due course. Condition 10 Details to follow

3 Condition 12 With reference to the above condition l enclose details of the various sustainability measures the building will incorporate. These will be monitored and implemented by the project team and upon completion assessed by means of a BRE post construction review. Details of Sustainability Measures Energy: The design targets a BREEAM Excellent rating and has a minimum requirement for a BREEAM Very Good accreditation, it therefore must achieve a 25% improvement on the building Target Emission Rate. In addition, a Biomass boiler situated nearby will supply hot water reducing the buildings whole life cycle CO2 emissions by an estimated 20%. Management: The main contractor will aim to adopt responsible construction practices to be measured by the Considerate Code of Practice scheme. In addition they will monitor energy and water consumption and the transport of construction materials on site. Health and Wellbeing: The building has been designed to achieve a healthy internal environment for its occupants. It will be naturally ventilated via opening windows and roof mounted cowls, most spaces offer views out and user control over CIBSE compliant artificial lighting to maintain visual comfort. A temperature control strategy will ensure occupant thermal comfort. Water: The building will include high efficiency sanitary fittings in order to reduce the use of potable water, the aim is to achieve a minimum of 40% reduction against BRE benchmark figures. Materials: It is intended that the project will use materials with a low environmental impact and Green Guide A rated materials wherever possible for both the building elements and external hard landscaping to reduce the building life cycle impact. Waste: The main contractor will be required to ensure high resource efficiency for non-hazardous construction waste, minimising waste, recycling and reusing materials wherever possible. The main contractor will be required to divert as much waste away from landfill as possible.

4 Land Use and Ecology: The building will be constructed on the existing footprint of the demolished building so as to minimise impact on local ecology. Condition 13 With reference to the above condition l wish to confirm the Ground Floor Slab level to be ODN m.
