Chapter 1 Executive Summary This Design and Implementation Document (DID) represents a collaborative effort between CommScope and Honeywell in support of the CommScope-Honeywell relationship. The intent of this document is to provide guidance to the respective sales and technical organizations of each party in the relationship for the design and implementation of a Honeywell Building Automation System (BAS) networks running over CommScope Intelligent Building Infrastructure Solutions (IBIS). This DID is an extension of the SYSTIMAX Honeywell DeltaNet System and Honeywell Systems Design Guides that were published in 1992 and 1994 respectively that offered building owners greater flexibility by providing a single structured cabling infrastructure to handle all information traffic -- from voice, data, or video to building management functions such as security systems or heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). CommScope IBIS is a modular, flexible cabling infrastructure system that supports voice, data, video and BAS by providing a robust and cost effective connectivity for all of a building s BAS and communication systems. IBIS utilizes twisted pair and/or fiber optic cabling to provide connectivity in an open architecture environment. In addition, combining CommScope IBIS with CommScope ipatch Intelligent Infrastructure Solution provides the user with control of the physical infrastructure. CommScope IBIS can support traditional BAS systems based on direct-digital control communication protocols over RS-485 low voltage control networks and newer protocols such as BACnet over MS/TP, LONWorks over FTT-10 or IP over Ethernet networks using various CommScope SYSTIMAX solutions. There are several standards that describe how BAS can be designed and implemented over structured cabling systems. The standards that supplement this DID are: 1. ANSI/TIA-862 Building Automation Cabling Standard. This standard specifies a generic cabling system for BAS used in commercial buildings that will support a multi-vendor environment. The purpose of this standard is to enable the planning and installation of a structured cabling system for BAS applications used in new or renovated commercial premises. It establishes performance, topology and technical criteria for various cabling system configurations for connecting BAS equipment and devices. It also provides information that may be used for the design of commercial BAS products. 2. ISO/IEC IS Generic Cabling for Homes. This standard specifies a generic cabling system for applications used in homes and multi-dwelling units. It includes support for CCCB (commands, controls and communications in buildings) applications which encompass lighting controls, building controls, security and fire alarms. 3. CENELEC EN Generic Cabling Systems Part 4: Homes. This standard specifies a generic cabling system for applications used in homes and multi-dwelling units. It is very similar to ISO/IEC IS

Chapter 2 Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator Architecture 2.1 Overview Every building has to meet several basic requirements such as security, fire-life-safety, ventilation, lighting, health and comfort. Security comes from the need to protect property, content and personnel. Examples of security requirements are identification of vehicles entering and exiting a car park, controlling access to sensitive or secured areas, and precautions against terrorist bomb threats, robberies and burglaries. Fire safety remains a top priority for high rise office buildings and large shopping malls. The ability to locate and contain the source of a fire rapidly, reduce time to locate missing personnel and facilitate access control is very important. In order to effectively perform these functions, buildings will require fire monitoring and sprinkler systems, lift and access control systems, a public address system and a personnel database. There is also a need for energy conservation due to dwindling natural resources, and concerns about global warming. This is compounded by a host of regulations especially in Europe. Buildings produce half the carbon dioxide emission and are now more rigorously regulated with new directives. These have resulted in an increasing demand for more efficient and greener buildings. All these require efficient HVAC and lighting control together with an electrical demand monitoring system. Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) is a suite of applications that provide a complete solution for the information access and control needs of one or more buildings. See Figure 1. EBI is targeted at key building functions. These requirements can be met by separate EBI systems or by a single, integrated EBI system. An EBI system can be comprised of one or more of the following applications in single server or network architecture of servers known as Distributed Server Architecture (DSA): Honeywell Building Manager (HBM) provides HVAC control. In addition to the traditional interfaces with Honeywell Excel 5000 controllers, HBM also includes an interface to Honeywell R7044 controllers such as Excel Plus and HPEP. Open Systems include a direct LonWorks interface, OPC, Modbus, and BACnet capabilities. There is also support for numerous Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) such as the Honeywell HC900 and Allen Bradley PLC control solutions. Honeywell Security Manager provides interfaces to Security Panels, Access Controllers and CCTV switchers. Advanced security features and options like Alarm Management, Deadman Timer and Guard Tour are available to provide a comprehensive security solution. Honeywell Life Safety Manager allows for monitoring and control for Fire Alarm Systems and Smoke Control. This system provides interfaces to Honeywell s Excel Life Safety (XLS- 80e/140/200/1000) family of products as well as the Honeywell FS90 Plus Fire Panel. EBI is exclusive UL864 Listing for Ethernet based life safety control and monitoring. The UL Compliance option within Life Safety Manager is also used for High Security Applications where UL Security Listings are required. Honeywell Energy Manager is aimed at optimizing energy usage in your facility. The Energy Manager system monitors your energy meters, validates data, provides information for forecasting and load prediction and ultimately enables you to optimize the use of equipment to reduce energy costs. Honeywell Digital Video Manager is aimed at providing management of a digital video surveillance system consisting of a large number of cameras on a network that provides control, recording, viewing and playback through an EBI workstation or on a standalone Internet Explorer browser. EBI is based on a client/server architecture. The EBI Server runs on Windows XP or 2003 Server software. The EBI Station (client) runs on Windows XP and 2003 software. 5

The top level of the communications architecture is a LAN of controllers and servers and the network software that allows them to communicate. This is based on IEEE /100/1000BASE-T LAN standards. The second level of the communications architecture supports BACnet (Building Automation Control Network) protocol, LonTalk protocol, and Honeywell legacy Central Bus (C-Bus) protocol. BACnet was developed by ASHRAE and is now an ISO standard (ISO ). It is designed to maximize interoperability across many products, systems and vendors in commercial buildings. BACnet devices are connected directly to the IP Ethernet network or to the MS/TP Field Bus. LonTalk is a standard open protocol developed by Echelon and is now a European standard (EN 14908). It provides sensor and controller connectivity. LonWorks enabled controllers from Honeywell or LonMark certified devices from another manufacturer can be integrated into the EBI system architecture via the LonWorks network. The Excel 5000 family consists of the following products: Excel 1000 or Excel Web (BACnet/IP and LON) Excel 800 (C-Bus and LON) Excel 50 (C-Bus and LON) Excel 10 (LON) Figure 1: Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) Architecture 6

2.2 Communication Media BACnet/IP Family The Excel Web (Excel 1000) is the product in the Honeywell BACnet/IP family. Excel Web conforms to the BACnet Building Controller profile. It communicates with other Excel Web controllers and 3rd party BACnet devices that conform to the BACnet protocol. The Excel Web is equipped with a LonWorks interface permitting communication on LonWorks networks. There are two methods of connecting the Excel Web controller to the LonWorks networks (both or either connection method can be used): Via terminals 5 & 6 and 11 & 12 of the terminal blocks, and/or Via the RJ45 jack (pins 1 & 2) located to the right of the terminal blocks The Excel Web controller is also equipped with an IEEE /100 Mb/s Ethernet interface permitting communication on BACnet/IP networks LON Family The LON family use FTT-10A free topology transceivers, transmitting data at 78 kb/s using LonTalk protocol. The LON bus network is sometimes called the E-Bus. The E-Bus is insensitive to polarity. The cable recommended by Honeywell is a Level IV, 22 AWG, solid core, UTP cable. The LON family consists of the following products: Excel 5000 and Temaline families C-Bus Family The C-Bus is a RS-485, 2-wire data bus that operates from 9.6 kb/s up to 76.8 kb/s. It employs a token-passing protocol. The maximum C-bus network length is 1200 m (3900 ft) and can be extended by using repeaters. Each repeater extends the bus length by 1200 m (3900 ft). Up to 30 controllers can communicate with one another via the C-Bus. The Excel C-Bus family consists of the following products: Excel 800 and Excel 50. The cables recommended by Honeywell are given in Table 1. 8 Chapter 3 Physical Layer Design CommScope IBIS supports cabling for the installation of Honeywell Excel and Temaline products using various CommScope SYSTIMAX solutions. The purpose of this chapter is to help customers identify and implement CommScope IBIS connectivity solutions for the Honeywell systems. Only IP over Ethernet networks, LonWorks over FTT-10 networks and the C-bus are considered. 3.1 IP over Ethernet Network Ethernet/IP network devices are capable of transmitting at 10 Mb/s, 100 Mb/s, 1000 Mb/s and Mb/s rates. This section focuses on Ethernet/IP connectivity guidelines using CommScope twisted pair and fiber solutions. CommScope recommends the T568B layout for installations. See Figure 2. It provides sensor and controller connectivity. Its applications are well defined allowing customers to find pin compatible products across vendors. LON devices, however, require single-sourced communication chip, the neuron, for node-to-node communication. LON also has a limited set of configuration tools available to configure the resident applications. LON devices are most prominent at the sensor and room controller layers. The LON technology provides the components and tools required to design applications that distribute intelligence and control throughout a system. A central component in the LON product family is the Neuron chip, which contains the LonTalk protocol stack and a dedicated applications processor. When nodes are required to communicate over long distances, transceivers are used. The LON FTT- 10A transceiver is a free topology device that provides a physical communication interface between a Neuron Chip and a LON twisted pair network. The FTT-10A is used to implement node-to-node communication, and may also be used as elements of repeaters and routers to extend networks. The FTT-10A Free Topology twisted pair transceiver supports star, bus, and loop wiring architectures. The FTT-10A transceiver uses transformer isolation and 78 kb/s differential Manchester coded data signals. Nodes equipped with the FTT-10A communicate via a twisted-pair cabling channel. The cabling channel may be comprised of multiple segments separated by physical layer repeaters. The FTT-10A transceiver may be used as an element of a physical layer repeater or router to extend the number of nodes and distances of the network. A free topology architecture allows virtually no topology restrictions. CommScope IBIS supports cabling for the installation of Honeywell LON technology based systems using various SYSTIMAX PowerSUM, GIGASPEED XL GSXL or GigaSPEED X10D GSX10D solutions and this is listed in Table 5. For more detailed design guidelines, please refer to the CommScope IBIS LonWorks Design Guide. 11

SYSTIMAX implements this as star wiring with chained branches. 2 Requires one termination. SYSTIMAX implements this as star wiring with bridged branches. 3.3 C-Bus CommScope can support C-Bus for up to 600 meters (1968 ft). Since C-Bus utilizes 1-pr, four C-Buses can share one 4-pair SYSTIMAX PowerSUM/GIGASPEED XL GSXL/GigaSPEED X10D GSX10D cable in the backbone. C-Bus can be extended using bus repeaters. Up to two bus repeaters can be used. Each bus repeater increments the bus by 800 meters (2624 ft). Please consult a Honeywell representative for more information on the bus repeater. Table 6 provides the maximum cabling distances and load counts. Table 7 provides the assignment of signals to cable pairs. The SYSTIMAX Power Separation Guidelines document shall be adhered to. In most cases, the distance is not limited by interface or signal attenuation, but by potential interference sources, such as other control signals or AC power transients. Honeywell recommends the use of a minimum wire size of 20 AWG (0.5 mm2) for all input/ output connections. Use a minimum of 16 AWG (1.5 mm2) for electric reheat outputconnections. The maximum length of all input/output cables and wall module interfacecables is 20 m (65 ft). The maximum length for fan power switching cables is 1 m (3.5 ft). 12
