2 What are dashboards? Dashboards are a means of displaying information for performance management and analysis systems. They are built on operational data and enable organizations to measure, monitor and manage business activity using various measures. They also allow organizations to conduct what-if analysis and forecasting so that strategies and activities can be adjusted to optimize performance. What is SYSPRO Executive Dashboards? SYSPRO Executive Dashboards is an interactive visual analysis solution that is seamlessly integrated into the SYSPRO ERP solution. It allows businesses access to a visual presentation of the real-time data in their ERP solution without the need to incur the large investment typically associated with Business Intelligence solutions. The solution provides business performance management and what-if analysis tools. SYSPRO Executive Dashboards provide a number of predefined dashboards that give an immediate view of business performance. These dashboards are a fusion of the capabilities of SYSPRO Executive Views and SYSPRO Business Objects with that of Crystal Dashboard Design (formerly Xcelsius) a product which delivers visual analysis tools that let users of different skill levels transform business data into visual information. What are the features and benefits? The following types of dashboards are available: Flowcharts Gauges Timelines Trend analysis Comparison widgets Performance overviews Scoreboards Sales WIP Benefits include: SYSPRO Executive Dashboards provide real-time access to operational data Data from different sources can be displayed in one graphic Engage and inform with a single visual version of the truth Key operational information can be shared visually across the enterprise Align employees with goals and KPIs by providing visual representation of metrics Improve ability to take action by evaluating different what-if scenarios Build, deploy and re-use visualization components Complex data can be made easier to understand by graphical representation SYSPRO recognizes that every executive has unique information requirements, therefore Crystal Dashboard Design, along with the source code to the Executive Views, ships as part of the SYSPRO Executive Dashboards solution. 2

3 How do Executive Dashboards work? Executive Dashboards are part of SYSPRO s Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite. Executive Dashboards are customized panes that can be used in all modules. Data in SYSPRO is accessed via SYSPRO Business Objects which ensure data integrity and security. Can I create or customize Executive Dashboards? You can configure your own dynamic dashboards from a number of pre-defined templates which, once dropped into any application, become effective immediately. You can also create your own. You will need some Crystal Dashboard Design skills and VBScripting knowledge to be able to do this. Can a dashboard be printed? Dashboards are screen-based application only. There is no printing capability. Can information be filtered on a dashboard, for example to a specific branch / year? Using VBScript, the code that renders the Dashboard can be edited to allow for filtering. 3

4 Can what-ifs scenarios in dashboards be updated or saved? This functionality is not possible at present. Is it possible to view a dashboard outside of SYSPRO? This is possible using the SYSPRO desktop Gadgets program. Documentation is available on the SYSPRO Support Zone. Can Executive Dashboards run on a mobile device? SYSPRO Executive Dashboards require a supported web browser and Adobe Flash; if the device supports this functionality, then dashboards can be viewed on the mobile device. What are the recommended system requirements to design Executive Dashboards? SYSPRO 6.1 Port 00 or later, Port 060 or later recommended. Crystal Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP3 or SP4 (recommended). One of the following Operating systems: Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-bit), Windows Server 2003, 2003 SP1, 2003 SP3 or 2008 SP2 (32-bit or 64-bit, Enterprise or Standard Editions), Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (64-bit only, Enterprise or Standard Editions) or Windows XP SP1, SP2 or SP3 (Professional only). One of the following versions of Microsoft Office: Microsoft Office 2010 (32-bit), Microsoft Office 2007 SP2, Microsoft Office 2003 SP3 or Microsoft Office XP SP3; (Note: The following Editions are not supported: Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010, Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010, Microsoft Office Starter 2010, Microsoft Office Basic 2007, Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, Microsoft Office Basic 2003 and Microsoft Office Student and Teacher 2003). Minimum Hardware Requirements: 1.8 GHz processor, 2 GB RAM, 900 MB available hard drive space (installer files), 350 MB available hard drive space (installed) and DVD-ROM drive. 4

5 What are the recommended systems requirements to run Executive Dashboards? SYSPRO 6.1 Port 00 or later, Port 060 or later recommended. One of the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP3, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 (32-bit). A Supported Flash Player: Adobe Flash Player and above (32-bit only) or Adobe Flash Player 10.0 and above (32-bit only). Screen resolution of [1024] x [768] is recommended. Client-side Hardware Minimum Requirements: 1.8 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. Can Executive Dashboards integrate with other applications? Data sources that Crystal Dashboard Design supports includes Microsoft Excel, XML compliant databases, SOAP-based and Web Services, and Adobe Flash variables. SYSPRO Executive Dashboards obtain their data from XML input via SYSPRO Business Objects. Data from the other application sources can therefore be integrated into a dashboard if you do custom development. How is Executive Dashboards licensed? SYSPRO Executive Dashboards follow the standard SYSPRO software licensing model, however it also includes a Crystal Dashboard Design licence. This allows for one designer but unlimited distribution of dashboards, which is not possible if Crystal Dashboard Design is licensed separately. The version of Crystal Dashboard Design that is shipped with SYSPRO Executive Dashboards is Crystal Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP4. 5
