3 1 Introduction Dualog Connection Suite consists of a standard package plus optional extensions. This document describes requirements of different configurations of Connection Suite, as well as software requirements/support. 2 Hardware Requirements Please note that these requirements are a minimum. Depending on other software running on the same computer, more memory might be required. Please contact Dualog for guidance. IMPORTANT: If other applications are also running on this computer, higher CPU, memory and disk capacity apply. 2.1 Standard installation The following requirements are for the computer/server running the Connection Suite services: CPU: Intel Pentium4+/AMD XP RAM: Minimum 2 GB Disk: Minimum 20 GB available for installation, plus data storage ( , files, cache etc). If running Web4Sea, add 10 GB Serial ports according to communication equipment requirements 2.2 Extensions No additional requirements apply when Connection Suite and extensions run on the same computer, given that this is a dedicated computer/server for Connection Suite. When running DuaCore Pro on the same computer as the standard installation (see 2.1), we recommend a configuration with two network interfaces, one connecting the ship s LAN, the other the communication equipment. If DuaCore Pro is handling lots of traffic between ship LANS, a more powerful processor is recommended DuaCore Pro running on a separate computer DuaCore Pro can be installed on a separate computer. To avoid reduced throughput on internal traffic, a CPU with at least 4 kernels is required. The following minimum HW recommendations apply: CPU: Intel Core i /amd A Page 3 of 6

4 RAM: Minimum 2 GB Disk: DuaCore Pro stores data to the Oracle database, so no specific HDD requirements Web4Sea Web4Sea can be installed on a separate computer. The following HW requirements apply then: CPU: Intel Pentium4+/AMD XP RAM: Minimum 2 GB Disk: Disk space depends on cache size configured in Web4Sea, recommended: 10 GB or more 2.3 Clients The Connection Suite user interface is available via a web browser. Any computer in the ships LAN can access the user interface. There are no specific HW requirements for the clients, but we recommend the following: CPU: Intel Pentium4+/AMD XP RAM: Minimum 1 GB Screen resolution: min 1024x768, recommended 1280x1024 or more Page 4 of 6

The computer Connection Suite is installed on must not be a Domain Controller 2. Testing has been performed on Professional edition of the different Operating Systems. Home Editions are not recommended 3. DuaCore Pro includes a NDIS Driver. No other NDIS Drivers should run on the same computer as DuaCore Pro Clients All Microsoft Operating Systems from Windows 2000 onwards are tested and supported. For other Operating Systems like MacOS, Linux etc, no testing has been performed, but using a supported browser and Flash player will most likely work fine. Page 5 of 6

6 3.2 Database support Dualog Connection Suite stores all traffic data and configuration in an Oracle Database. Oracle XE is supplied with the product, but existing installations of Oracle can also be used. Connection Suite supports the following versions of Oracle: Version 10.1 Version Internet Browsers The user interface in Connection Suite is a Flash-based webpage, and can be accessed via any computer connected to the ships LAN. The following Browsers are tested. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and newer Firefox 3.0 and newer Opera 10 and newer Google Chrome 4 and newer Most likely other browsers can also be used. Adobe Flash player must be installed to be able to access the user interface. If not installed on the client computer, installation can be found on the computer/server running the Connection Suite services. Trying to access the user interface will direct to a link containing this installation. Page 6 of 6
