5 Speakers The Honourable Mr Justice Frank Clarke, Irish Supreme Court Judge The Honourable Mr Justice Frank Clarke is a judge of the Supreme Court of Ireland. Mr Justice Clarke was appointed an Adjunct Professor in the Trinity College Dublin Law School in As a barrister he played a central role in many of the most notable recent cases in the High Court and Supreme court, as well as serving as counsel to the Laffoy Commission and the Flood Tribunal. In 2009 he chaired the Referendum Commission for the second Lisbon Treaty referendum. The Honourable Mr Justice James Francis, U.S. Magistrate Judge The Honourable Mr Justice James C. Francis IV is a United States Magistrate Judge. Along with his judicial duties Judge Francis currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Fordham University School of Law. In the field of electronic data and the law, Judge Francis is the author In re Warrant to Search a Certain Account Controlled and Maintained by Microsoft Corp. Judge Francis speaks frequently on electronic discovery and is a member of the Judicial Advisory Committee of The Sedona Conference, the Advisory Committee of the Georgetown Advanced E-Discovery Institute. The Honourable Ms Justice Costello, Irish High Court Judge The Honourable Ms Justice Costello was appointed a judge of the High Court in September She is assigned to the Commercial list of the High Court. She has dealt with a number of cases involving extensive edisdovery. She is also assigned to deal with examinership applications and is currently the bankruptcy judge. Prior to her appointment her practice as a senior counsel and junior counsel was predominantly in the area of banking and property law and general commercial litigation. She also practised in planning, probate and mental health law. Eileen Roberts, A&L Goodbody and CLAI Eileen Roberts is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of A&L Goodbody. Eileen is a very experienced commercial litigator specialising in large scale commercial disputes in particular in the areas of corporate disputes, property, financial, pensions, transport (maritime and aviation) and insurance disputes. Her clients include blue clip corporates and financial institutions. Eileen is chair of the sub-committee of the Commercial Litigation Association responsible for preparing the Good Practice Discovery Guide. Simon Collins, Ernst & Young Simon is a Director with EY specialising in the provision of ediscovery and Cybersecurity services to clients. He has acted as an expert witness on numerous occasions and led some of the most high-profile ediscovery and Cybercrime investigations, both in Ireland and internationally. In 2013, Simon led the development of the Good Practice Guide to ediscovery in Ireland, and has been a key contributor to the CLAI s Good Practice Discovery Guide. Simon has also been to lead contributor to the new International Standards Organisation (ISO) ediscovery and evidence collection standards. Richard Willis, Arthur Cox Richard is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of Arthur Cox with significant experience in domestic and international banking and financial services, professionalnegligence and shareholder litigation, as well as boardroom disputes and investigations. Richard established and oversees the firm s Discovery and Data Management Unit and is also a member of the Commercial Litigation Association of Ireland sub-committee tasked with drafting the Good Practice Discovery Guide. Chris Dale, edisclosure Information Project Chris Dale qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and was a litigation partner in London before turning to commentary on electronic disclosure / discovery. He runs the edisclosure Information Project which disseminates information about the court rules, the problems, and the technology to lawyers and their clients, to judges, and to suppliers. He was involved in drafting Practice Direction 31B and the Electronic Documents Questionnaire. Daniel Kavan, Kroll Ontrack Daniel Kavan leads the Electronic Disclosure Consultancy team at Kroll Ontrack in EMEA. He and his team advise lawyers and their clients on how to effectively manage electronically stored documents in litigation, arbitration, and internal or regulatory investigations. Daniel provides consultancy and training to assist clients with the identification, preservation, collection, review and analysis of potential evidence in document-intensive cases.
6 Speakers Graham Jackson, kcura Graham joined kcura, developers of leading e-disclosure software Relativity, as an International Channel Manager in their London office. In his role, Graham is responsible for supporting the business development efforts of kcura s international network of Relativity Premium Hosting Partners (PHPs). Prior to joining kcura, Graham was a Legal Technologies Consultant at Kroll Ontrack, a leading global provider of e-discovery software and services. Graham s background in global technology sales and consultancy on the technical strategies and practical workflow in e-discovery cases has provided him with a strong understanding of customer technology needs and issues across numerous jurisdictions. Karyn Harty, McCann Fitzgerald Karyn s principal area of practice is complex commercial disputes. She advises companies and financial institutions on corporate disputes, regulatory compliance and investigations and the resolution of disputes through Commercial Court litigation and mediation. She is adept at managing large scale discovery and has a particular interest in electronic discovery and privilege. She is a co-author of the chapter on Discovery in the Law Society of Ireland Civil Litigation Manual 2nd ed (Oxford University Press) and lectures on Document Management on the Society s Diploma in Commercial Litigation. Paula Fearon, McCann Fitzgerald Paula practises in the firm s Dispute Resolution & Litigation Department of McCann FitzGerald. Paula has extensive experience in e-discovery having managed the discovery process, from discovery requests to production of the affidavit and documents, in numerous complex cases in the context of both High Court and Commercial Court proceedings. As part of this, Paula has managed review teams, advised on privilege issues and assisted clients with the identification and collection of documents and document management. Paula has also assisted clients in complying with document requests in the context of criminal proceedings as well as within the Central Bank Administrative Sanctions Procedure. Paula is a member of the McCann FitzGerald e-discovery group and has experience of using each of the key electronic discovery platforms including Relativity, Clearwell, Summation Pro, InControl and Eclipse. Megan Anne Hooper, McCann Fitzgerald Megan is an experienced litigator who became a partner in the practice in Megan has extensive experience in e-discovery in commercial litigation and regulatory investigations, electronic discovery platforms and legal professional privilege, having advised clients and lectured in each of these areas. She has experience dealing with discovery orders in the civil and criminal courts and has advised clients on all facets of the e-discovery life cycle and related legal issues (including data protection and customer confidentiality issues) and she has project managed a large number of complex electronic document review and production exercises. Jonathan Mass, Heuron Legal Jonathan has over 30 years experience in litigation support and the use of technology in litigation. He worked on some of the largest and most complex cases in the UK and internationally. In 2010 Jonathan joined EY s Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services team in London. In April 2014 Jonathan moved to Huron Legal in London. A highly regarded individual in the industry, Jonathan is recognised in the Global Tech Leaders Top 100 for his integrity in litigation support and standards work, and regularly speaks at international conferences. Eugene O Neill, Geon Legal Solutions Eugene O Neill is Managing Director of GEON Legal Solutions, an ediscovery and litigation support company specialising in electronic data and document processing for clients throughout Ireland and the UK. William O Brien, KPMG William O Brien is a Director within KPMG s Forensic practice. William specialises in the delivery of ediscovery and computer forensic investigation services. William has led work streams in a number of large and small scale projects throughout Europe, ranging from fraud, litigation, price fixing, insolvency, civil investigations and regulatory enquiries. He has also provided computer evidence and has given expert testimony in the Irish courts.
