3 1.1 Introduction What is Microsoft CRM and how can we integrate DirectSmile Cross Media? We are going to explain that now. Microsoft Dynamics is a Customer Relationship Management software program from Microsoft. It is part of the Microsoft Dynamics business software applications. (Source: Wikipedia) With this program, you can manage a large amount of customer data. Through the DirectSmile Cross Media system and with the help of a data relation within a Cross Media campaign, you can, for example, directly forward the new lead generation to the CRM system. The manual step of having to save such data in a data table and then importing it into a CRM system is eliminated. 1.2 Setting Up a User Account Even without using a CRM system from Microsoft of your own, you can still create a test account at any time. With it, you will be able to follow and better comprehend the following steps. You can access the official website here: Fig. Screenshot: Homepage Microsoft Dynamics Click on the highlighted field and fill out the form. Here you will need to specify for what purpose you are going to use the test account and enter your company and user data. This information is necessary because Microsoft recognizes the extent of your CRM test application and will set it up accordingly. If you are not automatically forwarded to the free useable products, click on one of the links below, or enter fee trail in the search field. You will need to select the option CRM for our example. Please refrain from using any special characters or spaces as it could result in a problem when connecting with the DirectSmile system. Here we omitted the space. DirectSmileGmbH and not DirectSmile GmbH. Fig. Caution, you should especially refrain from using special characters and spaces in the Organization Name field.

5 Verfiying the Account Before we can really begin, you must first verify your data entries. To do so, enter the number for you mobile phone. Fig. Register via SMS Receive the from Microsoft Activate your user account

6 You will require a verification code for the registration that will be sent via SMS. Therefore, you should take care to use an actual telephone number. You will receive an after entering the code in the Verification Code field. Clicking on the link in the will activate your user account. Fig. Your account will be activated through the confirmation Now log on to Microsoft once more.

7 In order to use the CRM data in DirectSmile Cross Media you will need to make one final verification. Fig. The last verification 1.3 Creating a DirectSmile Cross Media Campaign The time has finally come. However, please don t leave the Microsoft CRM webpage, because we are going to be accessing the data in the account in a moment. In this section we will be creating a campaign in DirectSmile Cross Media and linking it with Microsoft CRM. In the following example, we will be creating a website that requests the user to register. The obtained data is to automatically be written in the Leads table in our Microsoft CRM system. Should you not have any experience with creating DirectSmile Cross Media campaigns, you might want to read the manual or have a look at the video tutorial webpage Fig. Do not use any special characters or spaces when naming your campaign.

9 Data Relation The Right Type Caution! You can only access the CRM table when you have adequate licensing. If your selection does not allow the integration of tables from Microsoft CRM or they cannot be displayed, please contact your respective sales representative. Select Microsoft Dynamics CRM 11 in the opened window. In the next step, transfer all of the information from the still open Microsoft CRM access page in the DirectSmile mask fields. Enter the URL, which can be found on your Microsoft page under Instance URL, in the Hostname field. Don t be confused! We selected the type CRM 11, however under the Hostname you ll see CRM4 listed. Just ignore this inconsistency and continue. Fig. Disco? Read the next section

Mandatory Change of Hosts From the manual: When Microsoft sends the customers the account details, they always include the login URL (example: If one tries to use this for the data relation, then an error message will appear that the Login Credentials are incorrect. This is because this URL is only valid for logging into the website and not for connecting with the Cross Media system. If one wants to use the data relation, then he or she will have to adjust the URL. Example of a typical user account from MS: URL: Account: Password: Organization Name: johndoe@directsmile.com DirectSmileGmbH The original organization entry must be replaced with the word disco. For Microsoft Office 365 In order to use the URL with the data relation, the organization name must be replaced by the word disco in the URL. Thus, becomes Thereafter the login will also work with the data relation.

11 Selecting the Lead Table We would like to create new leads in our example and save them in the CRM database. To do so, select the Leads table in your CRM database.

12 Linking the Form with the Data Relation Now link all of the entry fields with the columns in your data relation in the usual manner. Please read the chapter Setting up a Data Relation on page 253 in the manual for additional information. The manual also discusses the question of how DirectSmile Cross Media synchronizes the data with Microsoft CRM (chapter: Microsoft Dynamics CRM page 482). Fig. A typical form with a link to the columns of a data relation 1.4 Microsoft CRM Finding New Data If you haven t had a chance to get acquainted with the Microsoft system, this little guide might help you to find your updated data. Click on CRM within your MS user account. Then on the Home icon. Subsequently, the Microsoft system will show you an overview of your activities (Sales Activity Social Dashboard).

13 If you wish to directly view the lead table, use the navigator. Please Note: The data relation is based on the status of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 11, but it also works with the current version Microsoft Dynamics CRM 14. There are currently no known incompatibility issues.
