3 Overview CA ARCserve Backup goes beyond basic backup, giving businesses simple, yet comprehensive, data protection and fast recovery. You can back up to disk for speed and tape to reduce costs. It includes synthetic full backups, WinPE disaster recovery, file archiving and integrated backup copy to cloud for both physical and virtual servers, all in a single package. CA ARCserve Backup helps you reduce your backup storage with built-in data deduplication at no extra cost. CA ARCserve Backup delivers high value as it supports Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments with DAS, NAS and SAN storage. And now, CA ARCserve r16.5 provides Windows Server 2012 support that delivers even more value. It can be used to protect NTFS deduplication and Resilient File System (ReFS) volumes, storage spaces and Hyper-V 3.0 virtual machines. You also get faster backup and restore and broader system support. Supported Platforms The complete list of currently supported platforms, operating systems and applications are listed on the CA Support Website. What s new and changed in r16.5? Now you can protect the latest Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8 workstation environments as part of your file-based backup and disaster recovery goals. Take full advantage of the enhanced data integrity, availability, and scalability offered by Windows Resilient File System (ReFS) and achieve comprehensive data protection. Virtualize with Hyper-V v3.0 and feel confident that your data is protected. Protect the cost-savings benefits you achieved by virtualizing in the first place with a single solution for both physical and virtual servers. And you can run at the hypervisor level for single-pass backup of all Hyper-V VMs. Protect NTFS deduplicated primary volumes using either optimized or non-optimized backup methods and still achieve granular file-level recovery. Migration to cloud is also supported. Take advantage of more flexible and resilient storage virtualization capabilities with Windows Storage Space to protect your data. Protect remote volumes with distributed VSS support. You get application-consistent backups of applications that store files on UNC paths. New application support includes: application-consistent full/differential/incremental backup and restore of Exchange 2013 and SharePoint Exchange 2013 database recovery is supported but granular restore of mailboxes, s and attachments is planned for a future release. SharePoint support includes granular restore of databases and objects. Efficiently store large files on storage devices using 4KB sectors while achieving comprehensive data protection. Use LTO6 devices that support faster drives to speed backup and recovery as part of your strategy.

4 Leverage the flexibility and cost-savings a public cloud provides with expanded cloud support for backup migration to Microsoft Windows Azure, Fujitsu Global Cloud and Eucalyptus 3.0 and 3.1 based clouds. Amazon Web Services (S3) continues to be supported. Pricing and Licensing CA ARCserve r16.5 has one of the most flexible licensing mechanisms in the industry today. There are five pricing models currently available for purchasing : - Socket-Based licensing (for virtualized environments) - Component-Based Pricing - Simplified Pricing - Managed Capacity Pricing - Monthly Subscription Pricing Socket-Based Licensing The Socket-Based Licensing editions were introduced to provide a way to easily license virtualized environments. Both editions include technologies from across the CA ARCserve r16.5 product-line to enable leveraging cross-functional capabilities such as remote virtual standby and archival of disk images to tape for long term retention. They are available in the following two editions VIRTUALIZATION PER-SOCKET EDITIONS Component Name CA ARCserve r16.5 RPO Per Socket Component Description This bundle is licensed based on the total number of physical CPU sockets in each of the protected virtualization host machines. A wide range of platforms (includes Windows, Linux, UNIX, MAC) and applications (includes MS Exchange, MS SQL, Oracle on Windows\Linux\UNIX, MS SharePoint, Lotus/Domino) are supported with this license. The technologies included in this bundle span across the CA ARCserve r16.5 product line and include - Off-Host Agentless backup for VMware - Infinite Incremental disk Imaging (Windows only) - Tape backup and tape archival of disk images - Image-based backup for Hyper-V - Citrix XenServer and KVM Support - Local and Remote Virtual Standby technologies (Windows only) - Offsite real-time Replication for file servers and backup disk images

5 - Ability to protect the Hyper-V Host CA ARCserve r16.5 RPO RTO Per Socket Includes everything listed for the CA ARCserve r16.5 RPO per-socket license above in addition to the following capabilities - Application level off-site WAN Optimized Replication - Automated instant failover and failback - Full System High Availability Per-Socket definition Per Socket is defined as the number of Physical Processor (CPU) Sockets located on the device hardware being protected. For example, a server running a quad core CPU (Figure A below) installed in a single physical CPU socket will only need to pay for 1 socket. PROCESSOR CORE SOCKET Server A depicts a system that has one socket containing a quad core processor so here one per socket license is required (per protected server) Server B depicts a system that has 2 sockets each containing a dual core so here two per socket licenses are required; one per each socket (per protected server) One important point to note is that there is no need to consider the number of cores per socket, the licensing and pricing is on a per-socket basis This should not be confused with Per-Core pricing where the same server used in the example (Figure A) above with a quad core CPU would require four licenses

6 Upgrade from Per-Host to Per-Socket: Customers are not allowed to upgrade from existing per-host to this per-socket offering. These Per- Socket licensing offerings are created solely for new purchases. FAQ 1: Why per-socket pricing? Per Socket will be apt for those customers who plan to move to a multicore processor environment retaining the same number of sockets. For example, in Figure B above, a customer upgrading from a dual core to a quad core environment without adding another socket will save license fees. FAQ 2: When should I go for per-socket and when should I choose per-host? Per host is always advisable for all/any environments that expect more VMs in the future but do not know how many sockets will be needed to support the system. Customers can purchase a per-host license and protect unlimited VMs within the host. (The license is per host and is not transferrable to multiple hosts/servers). Component-Based Pricing The Component-Based Pricing model traditionally referred to as a la carte pricing is designed to help address basic backup requirements as well as complex IT configurations. It offers the user granularity in selecting individual component licenses for their backup environment and the ability to add functionality as needs evolve. The components available with can be classified as follows: Small Business and Essentials Editions The CA ARCserve Small Business and Essentials bundles are an evolution to our existing CA ARCserve Backup for Windows Small Business Server Standard and Premium Editions. They add support for Windows 2012 Essentials even as they continue to support the earlier Microsoft Small Business Server Standard and Premium Environments. CA ARCserve r16.5 SBS and Essentials Editions include industry leading infinite incremental disk imaging and off-site replication capabilities and provide best in class protection for the popular SBS on Hyper-V setups. Base The Base license is required for each Backup Server used in the environment. Agents Purchase the Agents to protect remote servers in the backup environment based on the operating system on the remote servers.

7 Options Options are additional add-on components that enhance the Base. These can be added to customize backup capabilities based on the protected environment. Each protected NAS device requires a license. for Windows Global Dashboard (per Managed site) Provides backup and SRM Reporting and Infrastructure Visualization across multiple remote sites to improve reliability, help comply with corporate policies and enable proactive response to help avoid unplanned downtime. The Global Dashboard license is needed for the Central Primary (Headquarters) and for each Branch Primary Server (Branch Office) and includes - 41 individual reports (jobs, nodes, tapes, encryption, resources of agent machines etc.) - Infrastructure Visualization across multiple remote sites UNIX Data Mover The UNIX Data Mover enables protecting UNIX file systems, Oracle on UNIX and UNIX SAP R/3 for Oracle. Each protected UNIX server needs a license of the CA ARCserve Backup r16.5 UNIX Data Mover. Here are some features of the UNIX Data Mover - Windows Primary Server, other Windows Members and the UNIX Data Mover can share a SAN Tape Library between each other. Data flow goes directly through the SAN, keeping the normal LAN free, and typically quicker than the normal Network. For SAN connected Data Movers, it is recommended to use

14 Simplified Pricing Modules The Simplified Pricing bundles consist of the Modules and the Modules with D2D and Replication. The Modules are licensed per-server and contain the CA ARCserve Backup technology required to protect the licensed server.
