3 Thoracic Surgery Advanced Techniques in Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) This preceptorship is designed for cardiothoracic and thoracic surgeons and their surgical teams (scrub PA, SA, RNFA, CST etc.) who wish to learn more about VATS Lobectomy and Segmentectomy. Surgical team members will join their surgeon in interacting with the faculty's OR team to refine their clinical skills and discuss ways to improve patient outcomes. Instruction on the safe and effective use of the ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler family, HARMONIC Product Family, and/or ENSEAL Product Family will be emphasized, and faculty will be available for discussion and case review throughout the day. Robotic Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS): Refining the Skills of the Surgical Team Interactive OR preceptorship for those interested in refining their robotic-assisted thoracic procedure skills. The program will address patient selection, procedural indications and contraindications, and techniques. Instruction on the safe and effective use of non-robotic bedside instrumentation, including the ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler family, HARMONIC Product Family, and/or ENSEAL Product Family will be emphasized. 3
4 Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) Lobectomy: A Practical, Hands-on Experience This preceptorship with inanimate laboratory experience is designed for thoracic surgeons and their surgical teams who have experience performing Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) and wish to perform VATS Lobectomy. Instruction on the safe and effective use of the ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler family, HARMONIC Product Family, and/or ENSEAL Product Family will be emphasized, and learners will have the opportunity to practice surgical techniques. Minimally Invasive Esophagectomy Course The course will address patient selection, procedural indications and contraindications, techniques, and management of potential complications. Case review will emphasize the safe and effective use of the ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler family, HARMONIC Product Family, and/or ENSEAL Product Family. A faculty led, hands-on cadaver lab will allow the learner to utilize instrumentation and employ surgical techniques discussed in the program. Advanced Thoracic Surgery Roundtable Interactive course includes a discussion on the latest clinical data and surgical techniques for advanced thoracic surgery, and then allows course participants to share and present challenging cases. Participants will discuss the safe and effective use of Ethicon products, including best practices for traditional, VATS, and robotic-assisted approaches. Topics in Thoracic Surgery: A Primer for Residents and Fellows This program provides the thoracic Fellow or I-6 resident with opportunities to engage in discussions regarding the latest advances in thoracic surgery. Interactive sessions will address patient selection, skills for managing potential complications, and other topics in thoracic surgery and Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS). Hands-on inanimate tissue labs will emphasize the safe and effective use of Ethicon products. Program will also include didactic sessions, group discussion, formal Q&A sessions, and extensive video case review. 4
5 Online Programs Thoracic Lobectomy: Open to Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS) This distance learning program is designed for thoracic or general surgeons who currently perform open lobectomy procedures and are considering adopting a VATS approach. Didactic approach will address patient selection, procedural indications and contraindications, procedural techniques, learning curve, and management of potential complications. Video case reviews will emphasize the safe and effective use of the ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler family, HARMONIC Product Family, and/or ENSEAL Product Family. Surgical Support Services Surgical Assistant and Advancements in Minimally Invasive Surgery This program provides the surgical assistant with the most updated information on safe and effective use of Ethicon products in minimally invasive surgery. Didactic sessions will discuss advanced suture technologies, energy modalities, stapling instrumentation, OR teamwork, and OR set up. Lab experience will focus on the safe and effective use of the HARMONIC Product Family, STRATAFIX Knotless Tissue Control Devices, and ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler in minimally invasive procedures. Enabling Supply Chain Excellence This course provides in-depth information about Ethicon s supply chain tools. Course will encourage discussions with peers in the industry; experts from Ethicon and Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Inc. will be available to answer questions. OR Educators Course Considering the rapidly changing technologies used in the operating room, it is essential that OR Educators have access to best practices in nursing education. Case studies on best practices for teaching safe and effective use of Ethicon Endocutters, Energy, Biosurgical and Wound Closure products will be reviewed and practiced. OR Champs Course Now in its twelve year at Ethicon, this course provides OR staff with didactic and hands-on experience with the HARMONIC Product Family, STRATAFIX Knotless Tissue Control Devices, Plus Antibacterial Sutures, and the ECHELON FLEX Powered ENDOPATH Stapler. 5
