1 Graduate Endowed Scholarships Financial Aid These scholarships are awarded by the Financial Aid Office as part of your applications for financial aid. Palmer Asbell Memorial André Muller International Scholarship Endowment Catherine Jackson Moss International Dorothy and Jack Bender Dorothy Polakoff Scholarship Dr. Emanuel Golden, 49, Gil Lentz, Jr. Endowment Harriett Nay Gough, G- 32 Memorial FUND DESCRIPTION Established in 2003, the fund provides scholarship support based on merit and financial need: first, to undergraduate student who have matriculated from the New York School for the Deaf in White Plains, New York; otherwise, to graduate students pursuing a master of arts in Deaf Education with a concentration in Teacher Preparation or Advanced Studies. The provides scholarship support for International Students (undergraduate or graduate) with a minimum GPA of 2.5 with preference given to students from Africa or Europe. The purpose of the is to provide financial assistance to undergraduate, and/or graduate, deaf and/or hearing students from outside the United States of America, who have demonstrated financial need. Students must meet all requirements for admission and have maintained a grade point average of 2.8 or better. Preference will be given to students who intend, upon graduation of their academic studies, to return to their home countries, where they will use the knowledge and skills they developed at Gallaudet to become productive deaf or hard of hearing citizens in their home countries and/or to contribute to the betterment of people in their home countries who are deaf or hard of hearing. Students must be willing to sign a Letter of Intent to that effect. Preference will also be given to students who have previously received financial assistance from the and successfully completed the courses for which the previous assistance was provided. This fund provides educational assistance to deserving undergraduate or graduate students. The fund provides financial support to deserving undergraduate and graduate social work students. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support to deaf and/or hard of hearing undergraduate or graduate student(s), with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The preference is given to deaf or hard of hearing students from the states of West Virginia or Maryland. The fund provides scholarship assistance to graduate students in the Department of Counseling with the most need for financial assistance. This fund supports scholarships for deaf or hard of hearing undergraduate or graduate students from the State of Nebraska and the State of Missouri. The first criteria of the award shall be academic achievement, and the second criteria shall be financial need. The fund provides scholarships to deserving undergraduate students on the basis of academic potential and financial need. Now graduate students may also receive awards from the fund. Students receive their awards as long as they remain in good academic standing. The fund provides financial asistance to outstanding graduate students enrolled in the Department of Audiology. Graduate of the GUAA: Scholarships with preference given to deaf and hard of hearing individuals pursuing a Ph.D., M.D., or J.D. degree. The fund will support M.S. level graduate students who major in programs offered by the Department of Administration and Supervision. The fund s purpose is to provide financial assistance for thesis or dissertation proposal in the area of mental health and deaf population. The income is used for fellowships for deaf candidates seeking doctoral degrees at any accredited college or university. This fund provides fellowships with preference given to deaf female students enrolled in full-time doctoral programs. This fund was establisehd to support doctorate students in the Clinical Psychology Program. This fellowship fund was established to assist deaf students studying for doctoral degrees.
