10 When can I make a claim? You cannot make a claim against the MoD for accidents or illnesses caused by events occurring before May Claims after that date can be made within a set time period whether you are still serving or have left the Armed Forces or are about to be medically discharged. The time limit for most claims is three years from the date of the accident. However, that limit varies depending on the type of claim, where it happened and the facts of your case.
