8 Energy Partnerships Solar Carbon Black Project Smart solar reactors for the production of high-grade carbon and co-products Funded jointly by Qatar Foundation and Lower Saxony government Status Reactor adjusts for variations in solar intensity Reactor has a laminar flow shield and a vortex flow in the chamber that sweep carbon particles away and creates a longer residence time for carbon particles Reactor flow dynamics cause significant reduction in carbon deposition and the risk of carbon clogging Multiple generations of reactor under test Benefits Produces hydrogen and carbon black without CO 2 emission Hydrogen as an energy source Carbon for nanomaterial production
