Lift Off (WC) Lift off hinges are fitted to all WC Frames. Recessed Fixed to mullions on 3, 4, 5 & 6 door Robe Frames. Striker Plate Standard height to centre from floor level 1000mm on all frames. Variations available. Tolerances ± 2.0mm Frames to be manufactured 3mm wider and 20mm higher than door sizes specified. Installation Guidelines: All frames to be installed with temporary bottom spreader bar in place, or a fixed bottom rail where required. Frames to be checked for plumb when installing. Ensure all frames are in good condition and correct handing before installing. Ensure Hinge Leafs are kept together. Left hand opening door. Unobtrusive hinges Two neat, slimline, 100 x 75 loose-pin zinc coated hinges per leaf are welded to all Modular King Deluxe Frames allowing for quick and easy door installation. Built in architrave A neatly curved built-in architrave enhances the appearance of the Modular King Deluxe Door Frame and ensures a precise fit. Modular King manufactures a comprehensive range of standard size roll formed, welded Deluxe Door Frames from top quality galvanised steel. Lock HT 1000 F.F.L - Unique striker plate. A unique stainless steel screw-on striker plate has a gently curved lead-in edge. As it is less obtrusive it looks better and does not interfere with the clean lines of the frame. Shock absorbing rubber buffers Rubber buffers are incorporated into all Modular King Door Frames reducing noise and vibration. Temporary bottom rail Modular King Deluxe Door Frames are supplied with temporary bottom rails to ensure stability during transportation and installation. Designed for easy removal. Two back openings Supplied in a choice of sizes. 95mm and 114mm to suit standard bricks. **Slider is only available in 95mm back opening. Brick ties supplied To ensure a tight, permanent fit, each frame is supplied with easy to install 4mm brick wire ties. It is welded into position approx mm up from floor level. Special sizes Special size frames are available on request. Frames are ordered by door size and Modular King supply a frame 3mm wider for each door leaf. With 3 or 5 door frames please nominate which side the single door is on. The single door is always hung on the stile unless requested otherwise. 5 Split Door Frames These door frames can be used for stud work applications or retrofitted into brick/block or concrete work. They are manufactured from galvanised steel and can be made with a wider architrave to enable the fixings to be positioned further away from the brickwork edge. Standard Split Door Frame will suit wall thicknesses 85 to 120 mm. Split Door Frames are easy to install with less work to finish and can be ordered to suit various wall thicknesses. All dimensions can be altered to suit applications. Split Door Frames are compatible with most hardware types. A Split profile is made in two halves and fitted from each side of the opening. It is of welded construction with counter-sunk holes for fixing and removable spreader bars to each half of the frame. Custom sized Split Door Frames can be ordered with additional lead time. Specifications: Door size. Stud wall opening size x x x x x x 655 Formula for other stud sizes. Add: 40mm to door height. 35mm to door width. Recommended Fixing: 1. Insert both frame halves into finished stud wall opening. 2. Clamp both halves securely against wall, clamping over extreme edges of architrave face. 3. Drill inner frame through countersunk holes in door stop using a 3mm (1/8 ) drill. 4. Fix both halves together using 8g x 25 counter-sunk head self-tapping screws through prepared holes in door stop, then remove clamps. 5. Ensure that the door is plumb and parallel. 6. Fix frame to stud wall through prepared holes in architrave face using appropriate countersunk head screws. 7. Fill over all screws using auto body-filler or similar and sand down to a smooth, flat finish. 8. Remove bottom spreader bars. 5

6 10 Bend Knockdown Door Frames Supplied as unassembled, flat packed, 3 piece modular door frames, 10 Bend Knockdown Door Frames are ideal for transporting and easy on site assembly. Frames can be welded on request. Ensure walls are plumb before fixing to eliminate post fixing issues. Ensure all frames are in good condition and correct handing before installing. Recommended Fixing: 1. Position head of the frame into stud opening. 2. Place stiles of frame diagonally under door head. 3. Align Locating Tabs with slots in head. 4. Move stiles into vertical position while locating knock down lugs into corresponding slots. 5. Pull head down firmly onto stiles and check that mitred corners are neat. 6. Bend over the knock down lugs by tapping lightly with a hammer. 7. Check frame for square, correct height and width. 8. Screw frame to stud work through counter-sunk holes using 8 gauge screws. 9. Fill screw holes with body filler and sand back for painting. 6
