1 DNB criteria for research output and list of journals 1. In view of the recommendations by the external research assessment committee, it has been decided to come up with criteria and a journal list that reflect the research policy of DNB. 2. Articles in journals and (contributions to) books are evaluated according to the DNB list of journals (see below) and the Tinbergen Institute (TI) list of publishers ( respectively. 3. A distinction is made between AA, A, B and C publications. As a rule, B journals have a minimum impact factor of 0.5 and receive a similar rating by the ECB and/or academic research institutes in the Netherlands (like TI, CentER, SOM). Books (monographs and edited volumes) and contributions in books published by one of the publishers on the TI list of publishers are counted as 2C and C publications, respectively. 4. The following formula is applied: Credits = Category*(2/(number of authors+1)) where AA= 9; A = 6; B = 3; C = 1. All publications over a moving window of 5 years are counted. Over this period, senior economists should have at least two publications and 6 credit points, of which 4 have to be earned by AA/A/B publications. 5. A publication in a peer-reviewed journal that is not on the DNB list of journals can be rewarded by the Head of Research - in consultation with the Director of the Division - provided that such a request has been made by the authors before submission.
