1 Transferring to The University of New Mexico From Santa Fe Community College A Transfer Articulation Guide based on The Santa Fe Community College Catalog Year Apply to UNM on-line at

2 Transferring to The University of New Mexico From Santa Fe Community College ( Catalog) Revised 02/16/2011 The University of New Mexico and Santa Fe Community College work closely together to ease your transition from SFCC to UNM. This information is provided to assist you in planning a transfer program. Satisfactory completion (grade of "C" or "Pass") in ENG 109, MATH 102/102L, MATH 102A/102B/102L, and SMET 111 will satisfy UNM Introductory Studies requirements. These hours will not, however, transfer nor be counted toward any degree program, because they are college-preparatory courses. While UNM does not ordinarily transfer technical or occupational coursework, the College of Education developed a baccalaureate degree program in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies for students who have earned associate of applied science degrees in certain fields. The program, which provides quality education for individuals interested in improving the learning experiences of adults in corporate settings, allows a maximum transfer of credits from approved technical disciplines in community colleges and Post-secondary technical institutes. For additional information, contact the program director at For the most current transfer information this guide is available on-line and updated as necessary; check the UNM website: Important UNM Phone Numbers and Websites General Information : Admissions Questions (Choose Option 1) Financial Aid (Choose Option 2) UNM Information and campus visits (Choose Option 3) Admissions Office ( Transfer Admission ( ) College Advisement Centers Anderson Schools of Management ( Architecture and Planning ( Arts & Sciences ( Bachelor of University Studies ( Dental Programs ( College of Education General Phone Number College of Education ( (Teacher Education) Engineering ( Fine Arts ( Nursing ( Pharmacy ( University College (

3 Unless otherwise indicated, the following courses, with a minimum grade of D, are fully transferable to UNM. Some classes must be completed with a C or better in order to fulfill prerequisite or degree requirements. Please note that course transferability does not ensure meeting specific degree requirements. Where applicable, courses are cross-listed with their UNM equivalents. In most situations where more than one course is required to meet the UNM equivalent, the excess hours will be applied to general university electives. If there is no equivalent UNM course number listed, the class may or may not be applied toward core requirements or as elective credit in a degree program. SFCC courses that list The University of New Mexico equivalencies have been approved by the departments offering the respective courses at UNM. Transfer courses that do not list UNM equivalencies may or may not satisfy specific degree requirements. You must check with department, college, or school advisors at UNM to see if these courses apply to your degree program. The provisions of this transfer guide are not to be regarded as an irrevocable contract between the student and the University. The University reserves the right to change any provisions or requirements at any time. 4 LETTER DISCIPLINES WITH 4 NUMBERS IN PARENTHESIS SIGNIFY THE NEW MEXICO COMMON CORE DISCIPLINE AND NUMBER (NMCCN) Revised 04/16/2009 SFCC Course Accounting Please note that transferability does not ensure meeting specific degree requirements.
