1 The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking comment from the public in anticipation of a second appropriation of federal transportation Stimulus funding. A list of potential candidate projects has been complied for public review and comment. The list only includes projects that comply with anticipated eligibility requirements for Stimulus funding. Projects that would not meet timeframe and federal project development requirements have not been included for consideration. All of the projects on the candidate list will not be funded with Stimulus funds, as the upper limits of potential transportation Stimulus funding for South Carolina is expected to be far less than the cumulative cost of the candidate project list. It is important to allow for public comment on the expanded list at this time to allow for the selection of projects that will provide for contingencies to address any version of the bill passed by Congress. If the second Stimulus bill is passed by Congress and signed by the President, the SCDOT Commission will select eligible projects from the candidate list to the extent necessary to fully utilize the approved Stimulus funding to our state. In addition, the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is seeking comment from the public on five resurfacing projects that are proposed to be funded with federal transportation Stimulus funding. The five projects will assist in fulfilling the full utilization of federal transportation Stimulus funding received through the initial Stimulus bill signed by Congress and the President in February A copy of the list will be made available for public review on the world web at: and at the following locations: South Carolina Council of Governments: Appalachian Council of Governments Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens & Spartanburg 30 Century Circle Greenville, SC (864) (803) Lower Savannah Council of Governments Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun & Orangeburg 2748 Wagener Road Hwy 302 North Aiken, SC Upper Savannah Council of Governments Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick & Saluda 222 Phoenix Street, Suite 200 Greenwood, SC (864) Santee-Lynches Council of Governments Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee & Sumter 36 West Liberty Street Sumter, SC (803)
