3 Repair [3] DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY [3] -1. section and Spindle DISASSEMBLING 1) After removing Insulation cover from, unscrew four Tapping screws 4x30 as illustrated in Fig. 2. Then separate from Motor housing. 2) Holding Spindle with wrench 13, remove Collet nut 6 by turning counterclockwise with another wrench 13. Then remove Collet cone 6 from Spindle. (Fig. 4) 4) Fix in vise. Then remove Bearing retainer by turning counterclockwise with adjustable wrench. (Fig. 5) Felt ring 17 may be removed together with Bearing retainer in this step. 5) Remove Felt ring 17 and Flat washer 18 from. Then remove Spindle from by pressing down with arbor press and Round bar for arbor 8-50 (No.1R282). (Fig. 7) 7) Remove Ball bearing 629LLB from by pressing down with arbor press and Round bar for arbor (No.1R247). (Fig. 9) 9) Remove Ball bearing 6001LLB from Spindle using Gear extractor (No.1R045) and center attachment (No.1R346). (Fig. 11) 2) Mount the Spindle section to by pressing down with arbor press. Then mount Flat washer 18. (Fig. 12) Fig. 11 Fig Insert Center attachment (No.1R346) into the hole of Spindle. 2. Holding Ball bearing 6001LLB with Gear extractor (No.1R045), assemble the ball bearing to Spindle by turning the handle of No.1R045 clockwise. Fix in vise, and fasten Bearing retainer to by turning clockwise with adjustable wrench. (Fig. 13) 4) Put on Bearing setting pipe 17.2 (1R036), and press-fit Ball bearing 629LLB in using arbor press and Bearing setting pipe 17.2 (1R027). (Fig. 14) 5) While holding Spindle with wrench 13, assemble Coupling to by turning clockwise with impact driver equipped with Socket bit ( ). Armature DISASSEMBLING 1) Remove Rear cover from Motor housing by unscrewing Tapping screw 4x18. (Fig. 16) 2) Pull out Carbon brush halfway in order to disconnect from the commutator of Armature. (Fig. 17) Remove Insulation cover and (Fig. 2). Separate the assembly of Armature and Gear housing cover from Motor housing. DISASSEMBLING 3) Holding Armature by hand, remove Coupling by turning counterclockwise with impact driver equipped with Socket bit ( ). (Fig. 18) 4) With 1R282 applied to the Armature shaft, separate Armature from Gear housing cover using arbor press. (Fig. 19) 5) After removing Labyrinth rubber ring 19, remove Ball bearing 607LLB from Armature using 1R269. [3] -3. Paddle Switch Lever DISASSEMBLING 1) Remove Rear cover from Motor housing by unscrewing Tapping screw 4x18. (Fig. 16 in page 5) 2) Fix Switch knob by inserting 1R281 in the space between Switch knob and Motor housing. Switch knob can now be disconnected from Switch lever by pushing Switch lever in the direction of the arrow. (Fig. 21) 3) While bending Switch lever B a little bit towards the opposite side to Switch, pull out from Motor housing.
