2 Soundproofing Materials The answer to this question is that you are looking to block sound from going through your ceilings, walls, windows and doors. 3 America Mat America Mat Closed Cell Foam One of the most versatile soundproofing materials in the industry is closed cell vinyl nitrile foam mat. We call this material America mat. This product is weather resistant as well as flame retardant and is used in more outdoor applications than any other soundproofing product. America Mat closed cell foam is used in marine applications to quiet noisy engine rooms where there is a wet bilge to contend with. 4 American Sound Blankets Sound Reduction American Sound Blankets Sound Reduction Solution The American Sound Blankets are the perfect product for temporary soundproofing applications. These sound blankets are made to order and are great for non permanent soundproofing applications. The uses for the American Sound Blankets are virtually endless. They are extensively used in Industrial applications for blocking off noisy machinery and other industrial equipment; however, these blankets come in a myriad of different colors and can be used in any home or office application as well. The American Sound Blankets are made with a core of 1 or 2 Lb mass loaded vinyl as its core with batts of fiberglass insulation on both sides and then covered with a quilted vinyl covering. The American Sound Blankets are UL rated and are classified as a class A building material.

5 Sound Isolation Clips Sound Isolation Clips are utilized extensively throughout the world for isolating a ceiling or wall assembly from the stud or joist structure as well as from the adjoining walls and floor assemblies. The RSIC sound isolation clip system is the most effective way to float a ceiling or wall system, completely isolating it from the surrounding solid structures. For example, if you were to float a drywall ceiling using the RSIC-1 clips, the low profile RSIC or the RSIC V clips, you would attach the sound clips to your ceiling joists using a self tapping drywall screw. You would then fit a 25 gauge steel furring channel (hat channel) into the claw section of the sound clip that is specifically designed to hold the metal furring channel. There will be rows of the RSIC clips fitted with the furring channels across your ceiling.

6 Acoustical Caulk Acoustical caulk is one of the most important soundproofing agents that should be used in any soundproofing endeavor. Acoustical caulk is used extensively to seal seams and gaps wherever soundproofing materials are installed. For example, if you are installing mass loaded vinyl on a studded wall, it is absolutely essential to seal all seams and gaps as well as around light switches and electrical outlets. Acoustical caulk is very economical and can be the difference between a good soundproofing project and a great one. When you are considering any soundproofing project, remember that sealing the assembly is critical for obtaining the best soundproofing possible.

7 MLV Sealer Tape Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) Seam sealer tape If you are using Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) or any other soundproofing agent to soundproof, the key to getting the best results is to seal all of the seams properly. This is especially true when dealing with airborne noise. Our MLV sealer tape is specifically designed to seal all of the seams as well as any over lapped areas in an MLV application. The Mass Loaded Vinyl seam sealer tape adheres tightly to the vinyl and maintains the soundproofing integrity of the vinyl membrane. 8 Ceiling Tile Soundproofing Backers Fibraboard Panels can be used as a very effective sound barrier backing board for standard T bar ceiling applications. The Fibraboard barrier board can also be used as a soundproof backer for drywall in both wall and ceiling applications.
