1 GE Crosswalk from s to Pathways How to use the Crosswalk If you have started your GE upper-division, the course(s) you have taken DO count in the new GE Pathways Program. If you need additional courses to complete your 9-unit upper division GE requirement, you may find that one or more courses in your are no longer in GE as of Fall You DO need to find an additional upper division course, or courses, to complete your. The guide below points you to Pathways that can be used to complete your upper division requirement. For example, let s say you took a course in the Social Sciences in A, American Identities and Cultures. You still need to take two additional courses, one in the Arts & Humanities and one in the Natural Sciences. The Crosswalk directs you to three Pathways where you can find upper division GE courses to finish A: Diversity Studies; Science, Technology & Values; and Great Books & Ideas. You select an upper division Arts & Humanities course and an upper division Natural Science course from any of those Pathways to finish your. Be sure that you cover all three disciplinary areas in your upper division GE coursework: Natural Sciences (Area B), Arts & Humanities (Area C) and Social Sciences (Area D). More examples: If you started B, Contemporary Health Issues, the Crosswalk directs you to the related Pathway, Health & Wellness. C has three crosswalked Pathways: Global Development, Diversity Studies and Food Studies. Each has one or more related Pathways with the courses you need to complete your upper division GE requirements. The Crosswalk provides you with pre-approved substitutions to finish your upper division GE by taking courses in the Pathways. For more information, contact Academic Advising, SSC 220 or a Pathway Coordinator.
