1 Respiratory Therapy Bachelor of Science Completion Degree The Respiratory Therapy B.S. Completion Program is for respiratory care practitioners who have completed an Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy and are Registered Respiratory Therapists. The program would allow these therapists to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in respiratory care while minimizing the duplication of knowledge and skills already acquired. The completion program is intended to offer the highest quality education that fosters critical thinking and encourages professional leadership and development. A respiratory therapist entering the program will acquire skills and knowledge above what is typically attained at the associate degree level. The comprehensive curriculum allows the student to become a successful communicator, critical thinker, and conscientious leader while encouraging life-long learning. I. Students can begin taking classes immediately. The only classes not available until spring 2015 are those with the red RESP prefix. How do I apply to the program? You must first apply to the college, through Enrollment Service. A student does not need to formally apply to the completion program until they are ready to take the red RESP Prefix classes. Then the student should come talk to Max Pierce or Christy Walker Can current Associate degree students in Respiratory Therapy begin taking classes for the BS degree? Yes, the only classes they may not take are red RESP Prefix classes. Well, when can I sign up for the red RESP Prefix classes. First, if not a current student at DSC, apply to DSC through enrollment services. Second, you must have earned an Associated Degree in Respiratory Therapy from a Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory Care accredited school. You must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with current credentials. 5 Will I be in a cohort group? No, students may schedule classes whenever they wish, and finish at their own pace. How long will it take to finish my Respiratory Core classes? Classes are offered so that a student can finish the Core with a year.
