1 ABSTRACT THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTS ABILITY IN GETTING CONCLUDING SENTENCES IN PARAGRAPH AND THEIR READING ABILITY AT THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE EIGHT CLASS AT SMP BINA MULYA BANDAR LAMPUNG IN 2013/2014 By FARINA The objective of the research is to know whether there was correlation between students ability in getting concluding sentences in paragraph and their reading ability. In this research, the writer use stratified proportional random sampling technique and to analyze the data the writer use product moment formula. The subject the test was the students at the second semester of Bina Mulya Bandar Lampung in 2013/2014. The writer used objective test that was multiple choice the test consist of 40 items and reading test consisting of 40 items. The result of the research showed that r count = 0.70 was higher than r table = with n= 30. It means that there was correlation between students ability in getting concluding sentences in paragraph and their reading ability. The hypothesis can be showed that there is positive correlation between students ability in getting concluding sentences in paragraph and their reading ability. It is due to the result of i

This paper is presented to english department of STKIP PGRI Bandar Lampung as a partial fullfillment on the requirement of S-1 degree.
