PCE control systems make sure that labelling and serialization is performed correctly, starting with individual products and continuing through to aggregation into bundles, shipping cases and pallets. 4 The Datamatrix Station XMV is an all-in-one solution for marking and verifying cardboard boxes and rectangular bottles. The system includes software for managing and operating the installed devices as well as an SQL connection for database management. Its small footprint enables the independent, mobile unit to be easily integrated into existing lines. Optional Tamper Evident functionality secures compliance with related legal requirements to avoid any kind of product manipulation. 2 The Advanced Bundle Station (ABS) with its high-resolution camera reads and verifies the 2D codes of every cardboard box in a bundle. All aggregated data of the packaging units, including serial numbers, are stored in an external database. 3 The Shipping Case Station (SCS) is a compact control unit for aggregation. It supports simultaneous optical capture of all units inside a shipping case and the assignment of a unique serial number to the resulting superordinate unit. 4 The Manual Aggregation Station (MAS) enables the aggregation of cardboard boxes into bundles, outer boxes and pallets so that they can be labelled in accordance with Track & Trace requirements. Consisting of a printing system, one or more scanners and the required PLM software, the MAS can be used at various positions along the line or as an off-line standalone system. This maximizes flexibility during the final aggregation stage. As a self-contained unit, the station can be commissioned immediately without long downtimes. The OEM version of this station is also available as a Pallet Aggregation Station (PAS). 5 The Bottle Serialization Station (BSS) enables you to perform Track & Trace, Datamatrix grading and DQSA operations as well as authentication of a filling system. Optical character verification (OCV) of batch information, serial numbers or expiry dates are combined with checks for the presence, placement and potential damages of labels. 6 The Label Serialization Station (LSS) is ideal for checking various data on both serially produced and non-serially produced labels. The serialized labels are automatically printed, the entire area is inspected by a high resolution camera and imperfect labels are automatically rejected from the label tape via an electrically driven rejection unit. Ultrasonic fork sensor systems are counterchecking to ensure highest reliability. Furthermore, different sensitivities can be adjusted in line with the various print areas. The LSS can be easily integrated into new production lines or added as an upgrade to existing lines, providing a full range of functions and user-friendliness while simultaneously reducing the complexity of your packaging process.

5 Integrated Software Solutions for end-to-end data management Pilot Line Manager (PLM) As an innovative system for managing all inspection and labelling stations, the PLM is used on a pharmaceutical packaging machine or a networked packaging line. Thanks to the central user interface of the PLM, all sensors, code readers, cameras and industrial printers on a production line can be operated and secured from a central location. The intuitive touch screen interface displays all user inputs and relevant results. If required, these can be logged in accordance with 21 CFR Part 11. All components on the line are clearly networked and displayed with an open XML protocol over TCP/IP. Pilot Site Manager (PSM) The Pilot Site Manager is a central software suite to manage all lines in a production facility from a central location. Orders, production and user data can be created manually or imported automatically via an connection. To ensure flexibility, standard web services are provided as interfaces for importing and exporting orders or products. The modular design facilitates easy integration into typical systems. PSM is a web application, that can be accessed anywhere on the network via a browser.
