Some courses are also taught in English. The University recommends exchange students to have at least a MCER B1 level of Spanish First Semester (Fall): February Second Semester (Spring): June ULPGC uses the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). ECTS-Credits are used to determine the relative workload of individual academic tasks. One ECTS credit is equivalent to 25 hours of student work, which includes the following: lectures and practical classes, private study, participation in seminars, projects and practical work and preparation for and completion of examinations and assessment tests. Normally one credit also equates to 10 face-to-face teaching hours 60 ECTS per year - 30 ECTS per Semester The Spanish grading system is based on a scale from 0 to 10, where 5 is the minimum passing mark: 0-4,9: Fail; 5,0-6,9: Pass; 7,0-8,9: Good; 9,0-10: Excellent. The top students of the class can get a Honours mark. 4 Requirements to accept incoming students Student Nomination Process Deadlines for registration Documentation Health Insurance Accommodation The ULPGC does not requiere specific requirements to accept students that have been nominated by Partner Universities. However, if a partner University does requiere specific requierements (knowledge of foreign language, minimum marks, etc.), the ULPGC will requiere those same requirements. Partner Universities will make an on-line nomination of their students. Each university will be provided with a personal password to access the ULPGC application system and nominate. Once the students have been nominated by their Home University, ULPGC will contact them directly with further information about the on-line registration and the necessary documentation First Semester (Fall) and Full Academic Year: 15 March to 31 May Second Semester (Spring): 1 September to 15 October 1.
