2 ب سم الله الرحمن الرحیم الم اي دة س و ر ة Allâh has made the Ka'bah, the Sacred House, an asylum of security and benefits (e.g., Hajj and 'Umrah) for mankind, and also the Sacred Month and the animals of offerings and the garlanded (people or animals, marked with the garlands on their necks made from the outer part of the stem of the Makkah trees for their security), that you may know that Allâh has knowledge of all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and that Allâh is the All Knower of each and everything. (97) ج ع ل ٱ l ٱل ك ع ب ة ٱلب ی ت ٱل ح ر ام ق ی م ا ل لن ا س و ٱل شہ ر ٱل ح ر ام و ٱل ھ د ى و ٱلق ل ىƒد ذ ٲل ك ل ت ع ل م و ا أ ن ٱ l ی ع ل م م ا ف ى ٱل سم و ٲت و م ا ف ى ٱلا ر ض و أ ن ٱ l ب ك ل ش ى ء ع ل ی م (٩٧) 1. Explain Ka ba? 2. What is alhadi? 3. What are Al Qalaid?

3 4. List sha ir Allah (symbols of Allah) mentioned in this ayah? Know that Allâh is Severe in punishment and that Allâh is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful. (98) ٱع ل م و ا أ ن ٱ l و أ ن ٱ l غ ف ور ش د ید ٱلع ق ا ب رح یم (٩٨) 1. List the three attributes of Allah swt that are mentioned in this ayah? The duty of Messenger [i.e. Our Messenger Muhammad SAW whom We have sent to you, (O mankind)] is nothing but to convey (the Message). And Allâh knows all that you reveal and all that you conceal (99) ما ع ل ى ٱل رس و ل إ لا ٱلب ل غ و ٱ l ی ع ل م م ا ت ب د و ن و م ا ت ك ت م و ن (٩٩)

Summarize ayaat 97,98,99 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Not equal are Al Khabîth (all that is evil and bad as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, and foods) and At- Tayyib (all that is good as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, and foods), even though the abundance of Al-Khabîth may please you." So fear Allâh, O men of understanding in order that you may be successful. (100) ق ل لا ی س ت و ى ٱلخ ب ی ث و ٱل طی ب و ل و أ ع ج ب ك ك ث ر ة ٱلخ ب ی ث ف ٱت ق وا ٱ l ی ا و ل ى ٱلا لب ب ل ع ل ك م ت ف ل ح ون (١٠٠) 1. What is tayyib? 2. 5 3. How can a person protect himself from this human weakness? O you who believe! Ask not about things which, if made plain to you, may cause you trouble. But if you ask about them while the Qur'ân is being revealed, they will be made plain to you. Allâh has forgiven that, and Allâh is Oft Forgiving, Most Forbearing. (101) ی ا ی ہ ا ٱل ذ ی ن ء ام ن وا لا ت س ل وا ع ن أ ش ی ا ء إ ن ت ب د ل ك م ت س ؤ ك م و إ ن ت س ل وا ع ن ہ ا ح ی ن ی ن ز ل ٱل ق ر ء ان ت ب د ل ك م ع ف ا ٱ l ع ن ہ ا و ٱ l غ ف و ر ح ل یم (١٠١ ( My Words List 1. 6 Before you, a community asked such questions, then on that account they became disbelievers. (102) ق د س ا ل ھ ا أ ص ب ح وا ق و م م ن ق ب ل» م ث م ب ہ ا ك ف ر ی ن (١٠٢ ( My Words List 1. Allâh has not instituted things like Bahîrah or a Sâ'ibah, or a Wasîlah or a Hâm (all these animals were liberated in honour of idols as practised by pagan Arabs in the pre-islâmic period). But those who disbelieve invent lies against Allâh, and most of them have no understanding. 7 1. What is Bahirah? 2. What is Saibah? 3. What is Waseelah? 4. What is Ham? 5. Why is the ayah saying wa aktharahum laa ya qiluna? And when it is said to them: "Come to what Allâh has revealed and unto the Messenger (Muhammad SAW for the verdict of that which you have made unlawful)." They say: "Enough for us is that which we found our fathers following," even though their fathers had no knowledge whatsoever and nor guidance. (104) و إ ذ ا ق ی ل ل ھ م ت ع ال و ا إ ل ى م ا أ نز ل ٱ l و إ ل ى ٱل رس و ل ق ال وا ح س ب ن ا م ا و ج د ن ا ع ل ی ھ ء اب ا ء ن ا أ و ل و ك ا ن ء اب ا ؤ ھ م لا ی ع ل م و ن ا و لا ی ہ ت د و ن (١٠٤ ( ش ی ² My Words List

8 1. Why is it that following one s forefathers can lead to misguidance? 2. How does Allah swt reward the scholars who give decisions in matters of deen? (answer from hadith) O you who believe! Take care of your ownselves, If you follow the (right) guidance (and enjoin what is right Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders one to do) and forbid what is wrong (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islâm has forbidden) no hurt can come to you from those who are in error. The return of you all is to Allâh, then He will inform you about (all) that which you used to do. (105) ی ا ی ہ ا ٱل ذ ی ن ء ام ن وا ع ل ی ك م أ نف س ك م لا ی ض رك م من ض ل إ ذ ا ٱھ ت د ی ت م إ ل ى ٱ l م ر ج ع ك م ج م یع ا ف ی ن ب ي ك م ب م ا ك نت م ت ع م ل و ن ( ١٠٥) My Words List 1. When death approaches any of you, and you make a bequest, (then take) the testimony of two just men of your own folk or two others from outside, While you are travelling through the land and death befalls you. Detain them both after As-Salât (the prayer), (then) if you are in doubt (about their truthfulness), let them both swear by Allâh (saying): "We wish not for any worldly gain in this, even though he (the beneficiary) be our near relative. We shall not hide ی ا ی ہ ا ٱل ذ ی ن ء ام ن وا ش ہ د ة ب ی ن ك م إ ذ ا ح ض ر أ ح د ك م ٱل م و ح ین ٱل و ص ی ة ٱثن ا ن ذ و ا ع د ل م نك م أ و ء اخ ر ا ن م ن غ ی ر ك م إ ن أ نت م ض ر ب ت م ف ى ٱلا ر ض ف ا ص ب ت ك م مص یب ة ٱل م و ت ت ح ب س ون ھ م ا م ن ب ع د ٱل صل و ة ف ی ق س م ان ب ٱ l إ ن ٱر ت ب ت م لا ت

10 Testimony of Allâh, for then indeed we should be of the sinful." (106) ن ش ت ر ى ب ھ ۦ ث م ن ا و ل و ك ا ن ذ ا ق ر ب ى و لا ن ك ت م ش ہ د ة ٱ l إ ن ا إ ذ ا ل م ن ٱلا ث م ی ن (١٠٦) 1. What is this verse about? 2. What should such a person do? 3. What should he do if he cannot find a Muslim? 4. What should be done if the heirs of the deceased do not trust the witnesses? 5. Why should the witnesses be taken to the masjid after prayer time? 6. What should these witnesses say when they swear?

11 : If then it gets known that these two had been guilty of sin, let two others stand forth in their places, nearest in kin from among those who claim a lawful right. Let them swear by Allâh (saying): "We affirm that our testimony is truer than that of both of them, and that we have not trespassed (the truth), for then indeed we should be of the wrong doers." (107) ف ا ن ع ث ر ع ل ى أ ن ھ م ا ٱس ت ح ق ا إ ث م ا ف اخ ر ا ن ی ق وم ا ن م ق ام ھ م ا م ن ٱل ذ ی ن ٱس ت ح ق ع ل ی ہ م ٱلا و ل ی ن ف ی ق س م ا ن ب ٱ l ل شہ د ت ن ا أ ح ق م ن ش ہ د ت ھ م ا و م ا ٱع ت د ی ن ا إ ن ا إ ذ ا ل م ن ٱل ظ ل م ی ن (١٠٧) 1. Explain what is auliyaani? 2. What do we learn from this verse?

12 : That should make it closer (to the fact) that their testimony would be in its true shape (and thus accepted), or else they would fear that (other) oaths would be admitted after their oaths. And fear Allâh and listen ( with obedience to Him). And Allâh guides not the people who are Al-Fâsiqûn (the rebellious and disobedient). (108) ذ ٲل ك أ د ن ى أ ن ی ا ت وا ب ٱل شہ د ة ع ل ى و ج ھ ھ ا أ و ی خ اف و ا أ ن ت ر د أ ی م ن ب ع د أ ی م ن ہ م و ٱت ق وا ٱ l و ٱس م ع وا و ٱ l لا ی ہ د ى ٱل ق و م ٱل ف س ق ین (١٠٨) 1.
