2 Screening Classification Guide Specifications Mesh & Spline denotes the number of openings per inch. Eg. 8 x 6 mesh has 8 openings across (warp) and 6 openings down (fill) per each square inch of the cloth. Warp refers to the foundation wires that run lengthwise within the cloth. The wire strands that are woven into the warp are called fill and run across the width of the cloth. For ease of insertion into frame, Lincoln Group recommends DAPA spline. WEATHER RESISTANT Strong and long lasting to withstand all climate conditions. NON CORROSIVE Mesh resists rust and prevents corrosion. PEST & INSECT PROTECTION Restricts the entry of disease carrying and tiny irritating insects. PET RESISTANT Stronger weave and strands to withstand tears and damages caused by household pets. CHILDREN RESISTANT Heavy duty mesh recommended for households to resist damages from kids at play. POOL / PATIO ENCLOSURE Ideal for pool, patio and outdoor enclosures. Made from heavier strands for durability but will not hinder natural airflow or hamper visibility. HIGH RISK Suitable for bushfire prone areas, manufactured to Australian Standards AS3959 (2009). EXTREME RISK Suitable for bushfire prone areas, manufactured to Australian Standards AS3959 (2009). Note: The information regarding Mesh for Bushfire Attach Levels is a guide only and may be interpreted differently. Please refer to the Australian Standard 3959:2009 and your local council for more information. Fire Rating Specifications BAL LOW, Very Low Risk has no special requirements for screening windows in this area, all mesh products can be used. BAL 2.5, Low Risk has an option for screening windows and doors (other than sliding) using steel, bronze or aluminium mesh with an aperture maximum of 2mm and fitting gaps no greater than 3mm in diameter. Sliding Doors are not required to be screened but if they are should comply as others screens in the house. BAL 9, Moderate Risk has an option for screening windows and doors using steel, bronze or aluminium mesh with an aperture maximum of 2mm and fitting gaps no greater than 3mm in diameter. BAL 29, High Risk has an option for screening windows and doors using steel, bronze or aluminium mesh with an aperture maximum of 2mm and fitting gaps no greater than 3mm in diameter. BAL 40, Very High Risk has an option for screening windows and doors using steel or bronze mesh with an aperture maximum of 2mm and fitting gaps no greater than 3mm in diameter. BAL FZ, Extreme Risk has an option for screening windows and doors using steel or bronze mesh with an aperture maximum of 2mm and fitting gaps no greater than 3mm in diameter.
