Contact me at: douglas.earp@clarusgp.com Course Overview In this two-day course, you will gain the knowledge necessary to lead an enterprise agile transformation by leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework, with its underlying principles of lean thinking, and product development flow. You will leave with a clear understanding of how the principles and practices support a successful Agile framework. The goal of this course is to equip you with the knowledge necessary to lead a Lean-Agile transformation at enterprise scale. Our SPC4 Douglas Earp, leads you through eight key lessons where you ll get high-level overviews, as well as specifics where you most need them. The course will offer exercises to test yourself on what you ve learned and at the end of the course

3 will offer clear-cut steps on how you can take the information to start your journey of transformation today. After taking this course, you can expect to have an excellent understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework. You will understand how to implement an Agile Release Train (ART), how to build large systems in a Lean and Agile manner and how to build and operate an Agile Portfolio. You will gain the leadership skills necessary to achieve the next level of enterprise performance and how to better lead the next generation of knowledge workers. 4 Who Should Take This Course Executives, managers, consultants, leaders, program managers, and Agile change agents. Anyone in an enterprise level software development environment looking to achieve the business benefits of advancing agile beyond a few teams or projects. Intermediate to Advanced knowledge will benefit from this course. Ideal for candidates with at least 5 years of experience in software development, testing, business analysis, product, program or project management. This course will prove helpful in several ways: Educate leaders, managers, and executives about how to apply SAFe for enterprise class Lean Agile software and systems development Prepare individuals of SAFe prior to taking certification courses such as Implementing SAFe 4.0 with SPC4 certification and/or Leading SAFe 4.0 Help individuals understand SAFe 4.0 in greater detail, especially those who haven t taken a 4.0 SAFe class Course Expectations Imagine a company where the CEO is shoulder to shoulder with you defining the business context of the program you are about to embark upon and how it will lift the company to the next level. Next listen to Product Management explain the vision and demonstrate a roadmap of how the company will achieve this vision in a 12-week timeframe. Up next, the Enterprise Architects define the solution and the environment, describing technical details of how this process will work. Now the fun starts. Product Owners break out with Agile Teams to prioritize and segment features with the teams. The Release Train Engineer (RTE) [Chief Scrum Master] coordinates the facilitation of this whole process. Apply the Scaled Agile Framework based on lecture, real-world examples, and insights by Scaled Agile experts. Understand the skills necessary for an enterprise transformation based on the information and examples presented, and additional recommended readings/resources. Gain the insights into the leadership skills most effective in unlocking the intrinsic motivation of software development knowledge workers, and begin applying them in your context. Become a Scaled Agilist (SA) by passing an exam to put you on your path to becoming an SAFe Program Consultant (SPC4.) Review the Scaled Agile Framework, Lean-Agile Mindset, SAFe Principles, Agile Release Trains, Experience PI Planning Sessions, and techniques for Leading the Lean-Agile Enterprise. Keep IT and Business on the same page through cadence and synchronization by delivering value on an incremental basis to the team every two weeks with innovation, training, and planning on week increments. Provide frequent system demos on a regular basis to ensure the business is engaged and provide opportunities to change requirements and improve the product. Rollout incremental delivery that provides the business with tangible deliverables at each program increment. Establish frequent review that narrows the window of course correction to two weeks instead of several months using traditional project management methodologies.

7 What is Scaled Agile? Scaled Agile Framework (or SAFe) is an Agile software development framework designed by Scaled Agile, Inc. It consists of a knowledge base of integrated patterns intended for enterprisescale Lean-Agile development. The Scaled Agile Framework is a proven, publicly-facing framework for adopting Lean Agile development practices at enterprise scale. SAFe defines roles, activities and work products for Team, Program and Portfolio levels of the largest software enterprises.
