2 6) Fall Fundraisers (see hand-out) Student Accounts: Money that students earn from fundraisers goes into their account. This account money may be used to pay for mission trip, retreat, and outing costs. Students must indicate this as their method of payment when signing up for something. If they sign up by paying out of their student account, but don t show up for the event, that amount will still be deducted from their account. Seniors must use up their account money, they can t get the cash at the end of the year. Unused account money is donated to the youth program. Account money can only be transferred between siblings. If you do your own fundraising, you cannot turn that money in to us to hold it in your account. You cannot write a check to just have us hold money in your student s account. People cannot make donations into your account at random times. If they want to pay a trip payment for you, that is fine. But you are no longer making a tithe or offering when you specify it to a specific person. We are trying to minimize the potential for illegal deductions that can be made when people write a check to Zion Reformed Church and trying to minimize confusion with student account bookkeeping. 7) What s Happenin : Events/Outings (See hand-out) b) Please make firm commitments ( maybe is not helpful) c) Feb 1 - Youth-led Worship Service d) August 16 - Youth Service (Mission Trip Emphasis) High School Students must pay $100 extra for the mission trip if they cannot attend Shareholder Dinner on this date. 3 What s Happenin Youth Group: High School meets Sundays from 4pm-5:45pm. Middle School from 5:45-7:15pm What we do: Devotional Thoughts, Ice Breakers, Games, Announcements, Worship, Lesson, Small Groups, Journaling/Reflection, Occasional Acts of Service. Some Scheduled Events High School Fall Retreat (Sept Cran-Hill Ranch Full Cost: ($40) Due Sept 14 (next Sunday) Depart 5pm Friday (Students Pay for Meal on the way) Return to church 12pm Sunday (no youth group that night) Culver s Fundraiser High School - Oct 6 (Monday) Depending on how many students sign-up, time slots will either be 4-6:30pm & 6:30-9pm, OR 4-5:45pm, 5:45pm-7:15pm, 7:15pm-9pm Trinity Reformed Community Kitchen - Oct 23 (Thursday) 4:15pm-7:30pm (1st 12 Middle School or High School Students to Sign-up) Every Thursday Trinity Reformed Church serves a meal to those in need of a meal. We do some set-up, serve dinner, and clean-up. We get some interaction with those we are serving too. It s a lot of fun. Everyone who goes, loves it. Jesus Culver s Fundraiser Middle School - Nov 3 (Monday) Depending on how many students sign-up, time slots will either be 4-6:30pm & 6:30-9pm, OR 4-5:45pm, 5:45pm-7:15pm, 7:15pm-9pm Middle School Winter Retreat (January Spring Hill Camps (Evart, MI) Full Cost: ($100) See payment Sheet No youth group Jan 25 Depart 5:00pm Friday (eat dinner before arriving) Return to church 3pm Sunday

4 Middle School Mission Trip (June 7-12 Sunday-Friday) in Chicago, IL *Total Cost $325 (see payment sheet) *Working with Center for Student Missions (CSM) (Inner City mission trip serving in soup kitchens, food pantries, kids programs, eating at ethnic restaurants, etc) High School Mission Trip (July 17-25, Friday-the following Saturday) in New York City (Staying at Flatbush Reformed Church in Brooklyn) *Total Cost $425 (see payment sheet) *Starting the trip at Cedar Point *Working with the Center For Student Missions (CSM) (Inner City mission trip serving in soup kitchens, food pantries, kids programs, interacting with the homeless, eating at ethnic restaurants, etc) *Every high school student is required to come to the mission emphasis Sunday/ Shareholder dinner (August 16). Each student needs to bring a 9X13 salad & dessert. If there is no possible way the student can make it that day, they will need to pay $100 extra for the mission trip.

6 2014 Triple Fall Fundraiser info: Entertainment Books Sell for: $30 Profit made per book:$5 Due date: October 5, 2014 Other info: You must turn in $30.00 for each book signed out or return unsold books in new condition at the completion of the fundraiser or you will be charged for them. Calendars Sell for: $10 Profit made per calendar: $6 Due date: October 5, 2014 Other info: There are 2 ways to check out calendars: o 1) sign out 1 calendar as a sample to show people. Take orders and collect $10 for each calendar you sell. Turn in $10 at any time to receive a calendar for that customer. Return 1 checked out calendar by Sept 21 if you are not able to sell any calendars. All calendars that are out after Sept 21 must be paid o o for by the seller. 2) check out more than 1 calendar (ex. 5 calendars). No calendars can be returned. You must sell all of the calendars you check out. 3) During the last week of the sale, confirm with Jeremy that there are enough calendars left Younker s tickets Sell for: $5 Profit made per book: $5 Due date: October 5, 2014 Other info: Each booklet contains a $10 coupon good on almost any merchandise item priced at $10 or more (customers spend $5 for the booklet and get $10 back on their first purchase), plus a bunch of other coupons, available on two days. Community Days are Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15. The coupon booklets are like cash. You must turn in $5 for each booklet signed out or return the unsold booklets in new condition at the completion of the fundraiser or you will be charged for them. Please return money in labeled envelopes with amounts and how much each is for. If you have multiple children who check out product individually, they MUST turn money and product in individually as well. Do not group together money or product. Customers must turn money in to you. Let them know that they cannot pay Jeremy. If they are buying from multiple students they cannot pay one check to Jeremy. Please do not make sales calls to church members on Sunday s. No blanket sales through the church mailbox system. Triple Fall Fundraiser s end on Oct 5.
