1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR STEP 1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM The candidate seeking admission to one of the B.A. / B.Sc. courses offered by Calcutta University is required : 1. to go through the information brochure given in the website 2. to satisfy the eligibility criteria for the applied course(s) 3. to submit signed hard copy of the downloaded Application Form, Acknowledgment receipts and Application Fee in the form of Demand Draft / downloaded Calcutta University Cash Challan along with attested copies of relevant documents to the Office of Department of Home Science, Viharilal College of Home and Social Science. Recent colour photo (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) of the candidate should be pasted on the application form, if not the softcopy of the photo already uploaded during the online submission of the form. Additionally, two passport size photo graphs should be submiited with the form and other relevant documents. First Screen Open the page with URL in any First Screen browser e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc. and First Screen will appear. Click 'Fill up the Form ' button and the Second Screen will appear. Second Screen Select the title, enter your name, select your date of birth, and you can give your valid address (optional). Select the subject(s) which you had in your Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination. If your H.S. Subjects don't match with any of the given subjects, select "None". Next, type in the code from the image shown in the black rectangle below and click continue.

2 Second Screen Third Screen The courses available for you is displayed in the screen. Start choosing the course from preference number 1. Preference Number 1 corresponds to your 1 st priority course. An increase in preference number corresponds to lesser priority courses. You cannot choose a course arbitrarily from any preference number. You can choose course from preference number 2 only when the course in preference number 1 has been selected. Similarly, you can choose course from preference number 3 ( if available) only when the course in preference number 2 has been selected, and so on. You can choose all the courses displayed on the screen as long as you satisfy eligibility criteria of the selected courses At a minimum, one course must be selected. Third Screen

3 Fourth Screen Fouth Screen The course you have chosen is displayed in this screen. If you want to choose different course / preference number, click the button Back and choose courses again, otherwise click 'continue>>'. Fifth Screen Fifth Screen

4 Sixth Screen Seventh Screen In this page you enter your personal information. 1. Name will be displayed automatically. 2. Date of birth will be displayed automatically. 3.(A) This is a mandatory field. The candidate should enter her present address. Don t forget to write the PINCODE. (B) The present landline telephone number (if any). (C) The mobile number (if any) 4.(A) This is a mandatory field. Enter the permanent address here. If the present and permanent addresses are same, the same address should again be written here. (B) Enter permanent landline telephone number (if any). 5. Your (if any) will be displayed here automatically. 6. Select Nationality. 7. Your Gender will be displayed here. 8. Select Marital Status. 9. Enter your blood group only if you have documentary evidence of Blood Group Test. 10. Select Category. 11. If you are physically handicapped, select Yes. 12. Select your religion. This is only for statistical interest. 13.(A),(B) & (C) are mandatory. (A) Enter your father s name.

5 Seventh Screen (B) Select the occupation of your father from the list. If your father s occupation does not match with any items in the list, select Others. (C) Enter his monthly income. This data must be numeric. If he does not earn or deceased, put a 0(zero) in this field. 14. Same as (15). 15.This field is mandatory if the candidate is married. Normally all the three fields are disabled. Selecting the marital status to Married will enable the three textboxes and the candidate should enter the required data. 16.Enter the necessary information, if required. 17. Give the family income per month. It is a mandatory field. Data should be numeric. You can upload your image in jpg or jpeg format only. The scanned image dimension should be 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm. The size of the imagefile should not be greater than 15 KB.

6 Eighth Screen This is the preview of the previous page (Personal Information). If any erroneous entry is detected, press Back and edit Information button to go back to the previous page. Never use the back Eighth Screen button ( ) of the browsers to return back to the previous page. Otherwise press Confirm and Continue button to move to the next page. Ninth Screen 1. Name will be displayed automatically 2. Date of birth will be displayed automatically 3. Select appropriate Board of 12th class Examination.

7 Ninth Screen 4. Select year of passing 12 th class Board Examination. 5. Enter the name of the School / College from which the candidate passed her 12 th class Board Examination. 6. Enter your Roll No in 12 th class Board Examination. 7. Enter division / grade obtained in 12 th class Board Examination. 8. Percentage marks of her 12 th class Board Examination. 9. If the candidate is already registered with Calcutta University, enter her registration number. 10. Enter your subject names, marks obtained and full marks of the subjects in table 10. The subject(s) you selected in 'Second Screen' will appear in SUBJECTS of this table. Click the textfields bearing 'Enter subject name' to enter your subjects in 12th class Board Examination and also enter the marks obtained and full marks for each subject. Do not enter the subject 'EVS' and the corresponding marks in the table. If you don't have more than 5 subjects, enter 'None' in the 6th SUBJECT column, and put 0s' in marks obtained and full marks column. 11. Enter the percentage marks of your best 4 subjects in your 12 th class Board Examination, which is required for your selection in Human Development course. This can be obtained by employing the formula

8 Sum of Marksobtained in Best 4 Subjects Percentage of Best 4 Subjects 100 Sum of Full Marksin Best 4 Subjects 12. If you have applied for Food and Nutrition course, you have to enter the Percentage marks of (Best 4 subjects + Chemistry). Your Best 4 subjects may or may not include Chemistry whether Chemistry is one of the Best 4 Subjects or not. This can be obtained by using the formula Percentage of (Best 4 Subjects Chemistry) (Sum of Marksobtained in Best 4 Subjects MarksObtained in Chemistry) 100 (Sum of Full Marksin Best 4 Subjects Full Marksof Chemistry) Press 'continue >>' button. 9 This is the preview of the previous Academic Information Page. Look for any erroneous entry and if detected, press Back and Edit Information. Otherwise press Confirm and Continue button. Eleventh Screen Eleventh Screen Eleventh Screen (i) The application fee is Rs. 50/- for General candidates and Rs. 25/- for SC,ST, and PH (Physically Handicapped ) candidates. The candidate can deposit her fee either by cash or Demand Draft. It is not mandatory to deposit the Application Fee prior to filling up the Application Form. If the candidate has already purchased the Demand Draft or deposited the fee through Calcutta University Cash Challan before going through this online submission, she should proceed in the following manner: Mode of Payment : Select Demand Draft / CU Cash Challan. DD / Challan No.:Enter the Demand Draft Number or Calcutta University Challan Number. Date :The DD date or Challan date should be entered in the field Date. Care should be taken about the format (YYYY-mm-dd) of the date. Amount: The DD/Challan amount will automatically displayed in the textfield.

10 Issuing Bank:In case of Demand Draft, enter the name of the issuing bank. Read the Declaration/Undertaking. If you agree with the Declaration/Undertaking, select I agree with the above declaration and press Submit button else select the other option and press Submit to leave the form. (ii) If the candidate proceeds through the online submission without making payment for Application Fee in the form of a Demand Draft / Calcutta University Challan, he/she should leave all the fields in this page vacant and click Submit to move to the next page. Before submitting the Form, Acknowledgment to the Office of Viharilal College of Home and Social Sciences, the candidates must make the payment and collect the Demand Draft / Calcutta University Cash Challan. She should write the mode of payment, DD/ Challan no., Payment Date, and Issuing Bank name (in case of Demand Draft) on the yellow rectangular area (in case of color print) or Grey rectangular area ( in case of B/W print) of the Application Form and in the Acknowledgment page. Black ballpoint pen should be used. Twelfth Screen(FORM SUBMISSION PAGE) Twelfth Screen Please note down the 12 digit applicant form number as well as 11 character long password. You'll need them for future use. The same will be sent to your address. You can download your application form, acknowledgment page, and challan by clicking on 'Download your Form' button or as described in Step 2. Thirteenth Screen By clicking on the links 'Download Challan', Download Acknowledgment Slip, and 'Download Application Form', you can download the Cash Challan, Acknowledgment Slip and the Applicant Form.
