Prof.Dr. Ertuğrul ÇELİK 1.MISSION OF THE DEPARMENT As University Of Tunceli Industrial Engineering Department our mission is; Educating industrial engineers who adopt systems approach, are researcher, capable of practising, have high managerial skills and are capable of meeting the needs of the industry Conducting scientific studies which can be accepted both at country level and at international level 2.VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT As University Of Tunceli Industrial Engineering Department our vision is; Being a department which is accepted in Turkey, guided by modern education values, being a pioneer among similar departments in Turkey with respect to undergraduate education, continuously improve Conducting researches which produce knowledge at international level, using the gained knowledge and experience for the develepment of both our university and the society Preparing the infrastructure required for graduate education in Industrial Engineering Department and ensure that the graduate program be opened 3.EDUCATION GOALS OF THE DEPARTMENT In Industrial Engineering Department undergraduate education, it is aimed to apply an education programme including contemporary industrial engineering practices on a firm engineering education. Therefore it is aimed that our alumni can monitor the rapidly changing conditions of private sector and adopt themselves to them, and spread the culture of productivity, effectivenes, quality and high performance in organizations they work for. 4.HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT Industrial Engineering Department was founded in 2009 within the Faculty Of Engineering. Currently the department consists of 1 Assistant Professor and 5 Research Assistants, one in the Operations Research Division and two in the Industrial Relations Division. Our university has made an announcement for 4 academicians, 2 for Operations Research Division and 2 for Industrial Relations Division. Our department is currently continuing its infrustructure activities. 5.EDUCATION AND TRAINIG An education program containing human-machine systems design, improvement of production and service systems and engineering analysis for scientific management of engineering activities is aimed in our department. In undergraduate program, providing the students with each method mentioned above with computer aid, and besides, having the students take two summer internships each consisting of 30 work days is aimed. 3

6 7.LABORATORIES OF THE DEPARTMENT 7.1.COMPUTER LABORATORY The computer laboratory in which the students will take their computer lessons, use ERP software and develop applications is planned to be opened in The laboratory will be 100 m 2 and consist of 1 server and 60 terminals. 7.2.ERGONOMICS AND WORK STUDY LABORATORY equipment. The Ergonomy and Work Study Laboratory in which the students will take their Ergonomy and Work Study lessons and conduct applications is planned to be opened in the year 2013 when the students will take these lessons for the first time. The laboratory will be 300 m 2 and include 2 computers and ergonomic laboratory 8.OUR ALUMNI AND AREAS OF WORK Graduates of Industrial Engineering Programme can work in; Production planning, quality control, marketing, human resources, research-development departments of manufacturing systems Service systems and public organizations like banks or similar private sector (Treasury, Foreign Trade Undersecretaritat, State Planning Organization, Ministeries etc.) as specialists, assistant specialists, inspectors Business consultancy areas 6

8 10.SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Within the context of social, culturel and sports acitivities, the students of the department can participate in theatre, sports and folk dances clubs if they want. Founding University Of Tunceli Industrial Engineering Club is aimed in order to introduce industrial enginering to the students, public and private organizations and other partners, establish and develop relations with other Universities Industrial Engineering Departments and take part in cooperative organizations. The most important Turkiye-wide industrial engineering organizations are; TEMÖB (Meeting Of Turkish Industrial Engineering Departments) which is being organized since 1996 and Industrial-Business Engineering Congress which is organized by Turkish Chamber Of Mechanical Engineers. It is a point of importance that our students participate in these organizations, hosting various organizations via Industrial Engineering Club in the future. 8
