1 ANNUR ISLAMIC SCHOOL NEWSLETTER Issue #1 AIS Annur Islamic School Newsletter September CENTRAL AVENUE, SCHNECTADY, NEW YORK, *********************************** Principal s Message Dr. Walid Hawana Dear AIS Parents, Staff, and Students, Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh, Are you ready to join the school this year with a positive attitude? Thanks for all the parents who volunteered last year and supported the school financially, but I m looking for more involvement this year please. Can I ask for 100 % involvement either from the mother, the father, or even both? We will have a challenge this year in academics and activities and getting to know 4 new staff joining our team this year. When you left last year, you left with ITBS results only. Now the results of the NY tests have come 3 weeks ago, and our students have done better than last year, yet we still expect more of them in ELA and Math. For those who need help, we will have tutoring for them as soon as we return from Adha Eid Holiday, In Shaa Allah. Alhamdullilah, we replaced the old vinyl tiles with beautiful ceramic tiles in Pre-K and KG classes and in the hallway starting from the entrance to the elevator. Please enjoy the new updates and help us by keep it clean. The cost of this updates is a gift from parents who support the school very much. More updates to the school will follow as soon as we have more donations or funds to do so. I m inviting all parents for a breakfast with me and AIS staff on Saturday, September 19 th, at 10:00 am in the school. I would like to discuss with the parents the school goals for this upcoming year, academic expectations, future plans for Annur School, and parents role in helping students and the school. Please come with positive attitude and back us up all the way to reach our goals. It is not new to say that the right hand cleans the left hand and vice versa. The school rests on your shoulders, like the future of your kids. Teach your children love and respect and we will teach them the rest. Jazakum Allahu Khairun Beginning of Day Transportation Rules: Drop - off time is 7:30am Deadline for late arrivals is 8:15am Late Pass & Parent s Signature are required after 8:15am End of Day Transportation Rules: 2:30pm is the deadline for accepting any change for bus or parent pick up Pick-up time is 3:30pm $5 for every 15 minutes after 3:45pm

Mondays: Pasta w/chicken Tuesdays: Pizza Wednesdays: Veggie Rice w/chicken Thursdays: Hotdogs Fridays: Chicken Sandwiches **ALL MEALS COME WITH FRUIT OR VEGGIE ** PLEASE MAKE SURE Our students are dressed according to the school dress code & appropriately for the weather. Our students are provided with a nutritious lunch every day. Morning assembly is important to AIS everyday routine. Punctuality with everyday arrival helps your child to value time and become a serious student. Please provide your child with all needed supplies.

Volunteers are needed!!*** Shalimar Dinner Thursday, September 24 th, 2015 Shalimar Restaurant in Clifton Park is hosting a fundraising dinner on Thursday 24 th between 5:00pm - 8:30 pm in an effort to help AIS raise funds!
