4 Work with Portfolios A Portfolio is an Adobe PDF that contains several other files that are compressed or zipped View Files in a Folder Open the portfolio Double click on the folder you wish to open Last Edited:

7 Click on the (i) in the circle to see more information about the PDF, such as the size, when it was created, and a description for the file. Click on the icon of a piece of paper with an arrow to extract that single file from the portfolio onto your computer. 22 Linear - Shows the files in a line, with a smaller preview of the next file, also allows you to enter a description of each file in a box on the left Wave - Similar to Linear, the files are shown in a line only as you select the files at the bottom, the top appears to wave through them Last Edited:
23 Change Themes Adobe provides five different Themes that you can apply to your portfolio. These Themes affect the background and the appearance of each file card Go to the Layout panel > click on Visual Themes > select the theme you wish to use from the list Change Color Palette Along with changing the overall Theme, you can also change the colors used Go to the Layout panel > click on Color Palettes pane Last Edited:

26 Customize Portfolios Add Header Click in the header at the top The Header Properties pane will appear Use Template Under the Layout panel > go to the Header Properties pane > under Templates, click on the dropdown box and select a template, such as Text and Image which places a text and image box on the header You can insert the header information into the boxes Last Edited:
27 Insert Image Header without Templates Under the Layout panel > go to the Header Properties pane > under Header Items > click on Add Image to insert a picture into the header The Select Image window will open > select the image you want to use from a file on your computer The image will be inserted into the header, you can adjust the size or move the image by clicking on the black lines surrounding the image The Image Properties pane will open, allowing you to change the opacity of the image, choose a different image, and remove the image Last Edited:

32 Under Image Scale you can select the size of the image Actual Size - the actual size of the image Tiled - if the image is smaller than the background this will repeat the image as tiles to fill the background Show All - shrinks the picture down to show the entire picture No Border - will stretch the picture so that it extends to the side Under Image Opacity you can use the slider to adjust how opaque the image appears If the image is sill distracting, you can use the Image Blur slider to make it blend in even more into the background Quick Tips To see how the header and background changes will appear in the final portfolio, click the Preview button on the Toolbar Last Edited:

37 Drag it to the new position Optimize Backward Compatibility Adobe or Reader Version 9 If the person you send the portfolio to is using Adobe or Reader version 9, when they open the portfolio created in Adobe X, they will see the following message: They can simply click Ok and they will be able to view the rest of the portfolio, however there may be some slight differences in the appearance of the design. 38 Adobe or Reader Version 8 If the person you send the portfolio to is using Adobe or Reader version 8, when they open the portfolio created in Adobe X, they will see the following screen: In this version, the files are listed on top of a cover sheet. For some users this can be slightly confusing and they might think that they are required to download the new version to access the files, without noticing the files at the top. You have the option to change the cover page so that it better explains how to open the files. To do this, follow these steps: Open the portfolio you wish to send On the menu bar, go to View Portfolio Cover Sheet Last Edited:
