3 MD65 AC MICRODRIVES T HE L ATEST A DDITION TO THE R ELIANCE M ICRODRIVE FAMILY Rockwell Automation is proud to introduce the newest sensorless vector control microdrive: The MD65. Following on the success of the MD60, the MD65 continues to establish the reliability and ease-of-use expected in the Reliance brand drives. The MD65 introduces a new class of microdrive product, with high performance motor control coupled with easy parameter setup. The onboard keypad provides users with out-of-the-box robust settings for simplified initial startup, as well as easy diagnostic capability for troubleshooting and fault detection. With the introduction of the MD65, Reliance Electric now offers a full line of microdrives from fractional to 15hp. These cost-effective, reliable products feature a range of performance specifications and adjustable features that will cover variable torque applications as well as constant torque, high performance applications. 4 MD65 AC MICRODRIVE FAST & SIMPLE S TARTUP STARTUP IS FAST AND SIMPLE WITH THE MD65 The MD65 provides users with a minimized parameter list for easy programming. The parameters are grouped into three categories, similar to the MD60: Basic Parameter Group P Parameters Advanced Parameter group A Parameters Display Group d Parameters ADVANCED FEATURES SET THE MD65 APART FROM THE COMPETITION: MD65 uses the same keypad and Basic Parameter Group as the MD60. In Display Mode, increases/decreases internal frequency parameter if that parameter currently controlling the drive commanded speed. Start Key ENTER Display value of P or A parameter. Save a change to a parameter value. Scroll through display (d) parameters. Forward/Reverse Key POTENTIOMETER Control drive speed. Controlled by parameter P038. START Start the drive. Controlled by parameter P036. REVERSE Reverse direction of the motor. Controlled by parameters P036 and A095. STOP Stop the drive. Clear fault.

5 THE RIGHT DRIVE FOR MATERIAL HANDLING APPLICATIONS This compact and cost-effective product is ideally suited for material handling applications, with requirements for good speed regulation, high performance, and flexibility to handle a wide range of applications. The MD65 provides high starting torque and excellent low speed control. Output frequencies can be set up to 400 Hz and carrier frequencies are settable up to 16 khz.
