4 WE START WITH THE RIGHT INGREDIENTS Using the proper ingredients makes a big difference in the end product. The feed additives included in the Hi-Pro Equine Feeds Premium Nutrition Program can maximize the performance potential of your horse. These ingredients are backed by the most recent equine research, and are carefully selected for each product. Different feed additives are utilized for each specific premium product, and are listed on each product page. Here s a complete list, and their specific benefits: Stabilized Rice Bran A highly palatable fat source that contains all the essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids necessary in a horse s diet. Also contains over 70 antioxidants, and is one of the richest sources of B vitamins. Flax Source A rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids which have shown to improve coat condition, decrease inflammatory response, increase immune function, maintain healthy membranes, and increase fertility. Beet Pulp Considered a super fiber that provides high amounts of beneficial digestible energy with low sugar content. Can help to provide energy levels similar to grain in a fibrous source. Organic Trace Minerals A more available form of a traditional mineral source. These minerals play a significant role in bone formation and growth, formation and maturation of cartilage, enzyme formation and activation, energy substrate utilization, fatty acid synthesis, amino acid metabolism, and hemoglobin formation. Selenium Yeast A more available form of selenium that works alongside vitamin E to create a cellular antioxidant defense system. Can help increase immune function, increase stamina, reduce symptoms related to tying-up, and increase fertility. Mannan-oligosaccharides Aids in the reduction of intestinal E. coli, Salmonella, and Clostridia. The binding of these pathogenic bacteria creates a healthier intestinal environment, thus increasing immune function and aiding in digestion, allowing the good bacteria to flourish. Added Amino Acids Balanced ratio of lysine, methionine, and threonine so that proper absorption and utilization can take place. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Proper amounts allow protein synthesis to occur that is necessary for growth and tissue turnover. Yeast Culture Saccaromyces cervesiae yeast creates an optimal digestive function to support higher, more consistent performance, quicker recovery from stress or injury, and better overall appearance. By increasing the efficiency of the beneficial bacteria in the hind gut, the yeast helps to maintain a healthy and resilient hindgut environment while supporting immune health. Yucca Schidigera include binding excessive ammonia, minimizing oxidative stress, and decreasing inflammatory response. These will aid in increased digestive health, increased immune function, decreased inflammatory diseases, and reduced chance of arthritis. Natural Vitamin E Source A more available form of vitamin E that serves as a biological antioxidant by neutralizing the production of free radicals. Beneficial in response to stress whether due to performance, parturition, disease, etc. Helpful in recovery after intensive exercise. B Complex Supplement B vitamins play an important role in metabolism and general health including energy generation during exercise, antioxidant activity, maintenance of nervous system, ligament integrity, skin and hoof integrity.

Does the horse have access to pasture? Are there other factors unique to your horse s situation? Knowing the weight of your horse is very important for proper feeding. Scales are the most accurate, but most people don t have access to them. The simplest alternative is weight tapes, which can be found at most feed stores. Based on the weight of your horse, you can determine how much to feed by creating a personalized Hi-Pro Premium Horse Feed ration at It will calculate exactly what your horse s diet requires to meet their nutritional needs. You ll also need to know how much each specific feed weighs so you can deliver the proper ration. Since most feed scoops are measured in quarts, the table below should help you determine quickly and easily how much Hi-Pro Premium Product should be fed to each of your horses.
