2 TOOLS AND SUPPLIES REQUIRED Phillips screwdriver Ratchet 10 mm Socket 10 mm Open end wrench Diagonal cutters Tape Blanket Container Shop towel The following tools are available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program. On the in, click on: Service > Service Bay > Tool and Equipment Program, then enter the number under Search. Or, call Trim Tool Set (T/N SOJATP2014) Plastic Trim Tool (T/N SILTRIMTL10) 1. Disconnect the negative cable: Wrap a shop towel around the hood latch. HOOD LATCH (Wrap with a shop towel.) 3 Remove the intake air tube (two clips). Disconnect the negative cable from the battery. 2 CLIPS INTAKE AIR TUBE Remove the intake air guide (three clips). 3 CLIPS INTAKE AIR GUIDE QBN2201AK QBN1504BK 2. Remove the front bumper: Attach tape to the areas shown on each side. 4 Release five retaining tabs on each side. With the help of an assistant, release the front bumper (five short clips, two long clips, and unplug the vehicle connectors). 5 RETAINING TABS LONG CLIP 5 SHORT CLIPS LONG CLIP With the help of an assistant, release five retaining tabs on each side. QBN1401AK 5 RETAINING TABS S (if equipped) QBN1501BK If the vehicle is equipped with headlight washer, place a suitable container under the tube end to collect the washer fluid from the washer tube. Refill the washer tank up to the proper level after installing the front bumper. Disconnect the headlight washer tube. Remove the front bumper. 5 3. Remove one washer-bolt and one clip, and pull back the right front inner fender as shown. 5. If the vehicle is equipped with parking and back-up sensor system, remove the clip on the parking sensor subharness. CLIP ON THE PARKING SENSOR SUB CLIP RIGHT FRONT INNER FENDER (Pull back.) WASHER- BOLT QBN2001AH 4. If the vehicle is equipped with headlight washer, remove the clip on the headlight washer tube. CLIP ON THE HEADLIGHT WASHER TUBE 6. 6 7. Remove the front bumper lower mesh from the front bumper (nine retaining tabs). 9. Secure the left fog light cover to the front bumper with two self-tapping screws. 9 RETAINING TABS 2 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS (reused) QBN2007AH FRONT BUMPER 10. Install one spring nut onto the front bumper in the area shown. Make sure to install the spring nut in the correct position and orientation. LOWER MESH (Discard.) QBN2005AH SPRING NUT 8. 7 11. Install the left fog light to the front bumper with two self-tapping screws and one washer-bolt. LEFT FOG LIGHT If the vehicle is equipped with parking and back-up sensor system, continue with step 14. If not, go to step 20. With parking and back-up sensor system 14. Secure the clip on the parking sensor subharness to the left fog light. CLIP ON THE PARKING SENSOR SUB WASHER- BOLT 2 SELF-TAPPING SCREWS QBN2009AH 12. If the vehicle is equipped with headlight washer, secure the clip on the headlight washer tube to the left fog light. CLIP ON THE HEADLIGHT WASHER TUBE LEFT FOG LIGHT QBN2011AH 15. Secure the clip on the parking sensor subharness to the right fog light the same way. LEFT FOG LIGHT QBN2010AH 13. 8 16. Plug the two fog light harness 3-pin connectors into the left and right fog lights. 18. Secure the fog light harness to the parking sensor subharness with six wire ties. Align the green tape on the fog light harness with the clips on the parking sensor subharness, and secure the fog light harness to the parking sensor subharness with one wire tie on each side. 19. Secure the fog light harness 2-pin connector to the fog light harness and parking sensor subharness with one wire tie with holder. Go to step 24. 9 Without parking and back-up sensor system 20. Plug the two fog light harness 3-pin connectors into the left and right fog lights. 22. Secure the fog light harness to the holes of the front bumper with six wire ties with clip. 2 WIRE TIES WITH CLIP 2 HOLES LEFT FOG LIGHT FRONT BUMPER FRONT BUMPER RIGHT FOG LIGHT 4 HOLES 2 3-PIN S QBN2104BH 21. Secure the green tape on the fog light harness to the holes in the front bumper with one wire tie with clip on each side. 4 WIRE TIES WITH CLIP 23. 10 24. Remove the vehicle ground bolt. TERMINAL BOLT (reused) 27. Route the ground harness down the right front inner fender area. Secure the ground harness to the vehicle harness with one wire tie. WIRE TIE TERMINAL RIGHT HEADLIGHT RIGHT HEADLIGHT QBN1940BH QBN1942AH 28. Locate the vehicle 1-pin connector taped to the vehicle harness. Remove the tape to free the vehicle 1-pin connector. Remove the dummy connector from the vehicle 1-pin connector. 25. Attach the ground harness ground terminal to the vehicle ground terminal, and reinstall the vehicle ground bolt. RIGHT FRONT FENDER 26. Route the ground harness along the vehicle harness. Secure the ground harness to the vehicle harness with two wire ties. 1-PIN 2 WIRE TIES TAPE (Remove.) DUMMY (Discard.) 11 29. Plug the vehicle 1-pin connector into the ground harness 1-pin connector. 31. Secure the ground harness 1-pin connector to the ground harness and vehicle harness with one wire tie with holder. 1-PIN WIRE TIE WITH HOLDER 1-PIN 1-PIN QBN1944BH 30. 12 32. Secure the ground harness to the vehicle harness with one wire ties. 34. Under the hood, remove the relay box upper cover (two retaining tabs). CLIP Do not secure the ground harness in this area. 2 RETAINING TABS (Push.) SRS (yellow) RIGHT FRONT FENDER RELAY BOX UPPER QBN1947AH 35. Plug the relay into the relay box in the slot shown. VIEW FROM ABOVE WIRE TIE QBN1946BH 33. With the help of an assistant, bring the front bumper close to the vehicle. Plug the ground harness 2-pin connector into the fog light harness 2-pin connector, then reinstall the front bumper. 2-PIN RELAY BOX Plug in here. 13 36. Pull away the door opening seal, and remove the driver s dashboard side lid (four clips). 4 CLIPS 38. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery, then press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode. Lower the steering wheel by moving the adjustment switch. UPPER COLUMN ADJUSTMENT SWITCH DRIVER S DASHBOARD SIDE LID DOOR OPENING SEAL (Pull away.) QB02512AJ TAPE 37. Remove the driver s dashboard lower cover (two self-tapping screws, nine clips, and unplug the vehicle connectors). S STEERING WHEEL QB02516AJ 39. Attach tape to the upper column cover as shown. 40. Turn the steering wheel 90 counterclockwise. Using a plastic trim tool, release the retaining tab. 14 41. Turn the steering wheel 180 clockwise. Using a plastic trim tool, release the retaining tab. 43. Remove one self-tapping screw from the lower column cover. Release the upper column cover (two retaining tabs and four hooks), and secure the upper column cover to the dashboard with the tape. QB02520AJ 44. Turn the steering wheel 180 counterclockwise, and remove the other self-tapping screw from the lower column cover. DASHBOARD Push. TAPE UPPER COLUMN 2 HOOKS 2 RETAINING TABS 2 HOOKS LOWER COLUMN SELF-TAPPING SCREW QB02521AJ QB02519AJ 45. Press the engine start/stop button to select OFF mode, then disconnect the negative cable from the battery. NOTE: The steering wheel automatically moves fully in and up. 15 46. Remove the bolt from the driver s dashboard center lower cover. 48. Remove the lower column cover (one self-tapping screw, and unplug the vehicle connector). BOLT DRIVER S DASHBOARD CENTER LOWER QB02514AJ 47. Remove the driver s dashboard center lower cover (six clips, and unplug the vehicle connector and temperature sensor). 16 49. Unplug the vehicle connector from the combination light switch. 51. Install the new combination light switch onto the steering column. Do not push on the lever. STEERING WHEEL STEERING WHEEL STEERING COLUMN STEERING COLUMN COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH (Discard.) Do not pull on the lever. COMBINATION LIGHT SWITCH (supplied) Do not push on the lever. 2 RETAINING TABS (Push.) QBN2110AH 50. Push two retaining tabs, and slide the combination light switch out of the steering column. Do not pull on the lever. 2 RETAINING TABS (Push.) QBN2111AH 52. Plug the vehicle connector into the new combination light switch. Make sure the vehicle harness has some slack. 53. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properly and all connectors are plugged in. 54. Reinstall all removed parts except for the front bulkhead cover and the intake air tube. 55. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery. 56. Reinstall the front bulkhead cover and the intake air tube. 57. Press and hold the radio power button for two seconds to restore the radio and navi (if equipped) system functions. 58. Reset the clock. 59. 17 USE AND CARE How to Operate the Fog Lights Turn the headlight switch to the position (headlights on low beam). Turn on the fog light switch (indicator is on). How to Aim the Fog Lights 1. Adjust the fog light aim by turning the adjustment screw in or out until the correct aim is obtained. Adjust the aim according to local laws and regulations. RIGHT HEADLIGHT SWITCH OFF Low High SWITCH OFF ON - To raise. To lower. QBN2108AH If the fog lights do not turn on, check the fuse and all the connectors, including the ground cable. NOTE: The fog light lenses can cloud when the outside temperature is cold; this is normal and should go away in warm weather.
