1 Professional Development Hundreds of opportunities to develop your leadership competency Illinois Principals Association 2940 Baker Drive Springfield, IL Phone Fax

2 Introducing Leadership Competencies Dear Colleague, The Illinois Principals Association works daily to improve the services we provide our members, which includes networking, advocacy, and the topic for this message, professional development. Whether it be connecting you with cutting edge experts or using the latest technology to deliver high-quality learning experiences right to your desktop, the IPA strives to help you develop as an effective educational leader. To further enhance our professional development program, we have aligned our Administrator Academies to six key, research based Leadership Competencies. Our purpose for doing this is to assist you with more readily identifying the professional development you need. The Leadership Competencies and their respective icon identifiers are shown above. Expect to see these icons wherever IPA professional development offerings are shared, including our two conferences, live webinar events, and asynchronous content on the Ed Leaders Network ( Moving forward, it is our goal to build on this alignment effort and create a continuum of professional development for you that spans from year one to retirement. We look forward to designing a comprehensive professional development program that incorporates evaluation, individual reflection, goal setting, and deep learning experiences. We hope this not only provides the IPA the opportunity to help you grow but also allows us to recognize your accomplishments. Exciting times are ahead with much work yet to be done. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to me if there s anything the IPA or I can do for you. Jason E.
