2 WORK EXPERIENCE ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL APRIL Present GRAPE CREEK ISD SAN ANGELO, TEXAS I am the Administrator in charge of the Primary Elementary Campus at Grape Creek ISD at this time. I served as the Interim Principal for the entire elementary for half a year prior to taking the Primary Principal position. I created venues for increased Parent Involvement for my campus with creating, supervising, and implementing a spring musical for my entire campus, meet the teacher, mandatory parent/teacher conferences twice a year, awards assemblies each nine weeks, and fun day. I effectively built my campus team with a staff that I have hand picked. I was able to use disciplinary measures and other effective administrative measures to replace staff that I felt was not meeting the expectations that I set for my campus and was not working toward the goals my team and I set for our students and campus. I assist my fellow administrators from the other campuses in creating documents and information to help to align our campuses and create a united and streamlined path for our students as they transition from one campus to the next. I provide instructional leadership in the development of a clear mission, vision, and strategic plan for implementation and evaluation of progress and performance with a focus on academic success for all students. I directly supervise 75 staff members on the Grape Creek Elementary Campus with an enrollment of 570 students grades Pre-K -5. Created, Developed, and Implemented a new program I named The Village working with my Team Leaders to provide a more individualized, intensified, education program for all students based on each student s strength s and weaknesses. Developed a system for TRUE progress monitoring of all students. Developed after school enrichment programs.

3 Mentored 4 administrative interns (Angelo State University program) Serve on the Superintendent s Executive Committees, responsible for advising the Superintendent and providing district-wide leadership. Directly supervise school staff and principals with respect to teaching and learning, school climate, operations and community relations; provide coaching, expertise and support to school administrators and directors on managing school issues. Work collaboratively with the Superintendent, Campus Principals, Assistant Principals, and Directors of Programs to create a focused, data-driven district wide Strategic Plan that help every student meet or exceed academic standards and that are aligned with the districts educational priorities. Align schools financial and human resources with the priorities identified within the framework of the district s Strategic Plan. Evaluate school performance by analyzing assessment data, making frequent school and classroom visits, and monitoring progress towards stated goals in School Improvement Plans. Serve as an effective member of the school district s leadership team; design and implement district initiatives that emerge from the Strategic Plan; work collaboratively with the district staff to develop systematic communication and support strategies to ensure that principals obtain the information and support necessary to meet district goals. Maintain clear lines of communication between the Elementary Campus, Central Office, Transportation Office, Maintenance Office, Sheriff s Department, the Education Service Center, and Community by developing effective protocols for disseminating information, gathering feedback, and collecting data. Facilitate clear lines of communication, negotiations, and positive relations between the Grape Creek ISD School Board, the Executive Leadership Teams, Community Organizations, and Surrounding school districts Promote a continuous learning ethic among school faculty members by providing formal professional development opportunities; building effective professional learning communities, and creating individualized paths for professional growth.

4 Evaluate professional staff through an annual performance review process, frequent monitoring, and walk through evaluations Staff effective, highly qualified educators in every classroom ASSISTANT ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL JUNE APRIL 2009 GRAPE CREEK ISD SAN ANGELO, TEXAS As the Assistant Principal, I was the administrator in charge of the Special Education program on the campus. I was responsible for running the ARD meetings, and ensuring that all stakeholders were represented, had the correct information and input and that the correct procedures and laws were followed during the meeting. I was charged with the duty of knowing all aspects of Special Education and for ensuring that the best plans, services, and care was set up and agreed upon by the committee to develop a plan that was most beneficial for our students with any type of disability. I was the administrator in charge of the 504 program. I was the supervisor in charge of setting of policies, procedures, and the process to ensure that the testing and implementation of the program was followed and carried out for these students in the classroom. I created two SAT teams for the Elementary campus. I was the acting supervisor for both Student Assistance Teams. I created and set up criteria, and procedures to ensure that the RTI process was being executed and implemented correctly. I assisted all teachers with the process and created a manual for them to follow in order to ensure that the RTI process was implemented correctly for our students who may be struggling in the classroom. I handled all of the disciplinary referrals for the campus, as well as any bus issues. I handled any questions or concerns that our parents may have had concerning their child or children. (I have a great rapport with my parents!) I have created and implemented a Positive Behavior Support program for the campus along with a Morning Show, and Super Eagle Flyers.

5 I initiated benchmark testing for our students in order to monitor their progress throughout the school year. I was the direct supervisor of the staff at the elementary and was the administrator who conducted walkthroughs, and evaluations concerning PDAS appraisals. I assisted them; as well as any other staff, with classroom management ideas, trainings that they may attend, and ensure that the students are getting the best quality instruction necessary in the classroom. I worked and collaborate with the PTA, community leaders, and other district leaders in order to create various functions, activities, and venues that will help to increase and encourage parent involvement for the campus. I developed a positive school wide culture and climate of collaboration and partnership between students, staff, parents, and community organizations. I initiated Professional Learning Communities, Lesson Study, Instructional Coaching Model, and other forms of on-going staff collaboration focused on improving student learning and improved instructional practice. I develop a Collaborative Specialist Model at both the Primary and the Intermediate grade levels and the use of structured forms of inquiry as an approach to teaching and learning across all grade levels. I facilitated the development of a Response to Intervention approach to instruction within the classroom setting resulting in a closing of the achievement gap across all academic areas. I initiated a strong partnership between the Grape Creek Elementary Campus and various Community Organizations and Businesses in order to provide learning opportunities for all students. I initiated Positive Behavior Supports and Student Incentive Programs along with partnerships and mentoring opportunities Developed a positive school wide culture and climate focused on positive outcomes for all students.

6 Transition/Special Programs and Funding Coordinator August 2007-June 2009 I have a vast amount of experience working with a variety of Federal and State agencies as well as school personnel to ensure success of students in Special Education after High School graduation. Developed very proficient skills in working within both the RSCCC program, and Special Education Mgr. Program in order to create reports, input data, as well as other tasks for Grape Creek ISD School Board, Grape Creek ISD faculty, and Miles ISD faculty. I have gained a great deal of knowledge about the Special Education Program and ARD process. I have been able to gain a great level of expertise about the Instructional Arrangements of Special Ed. Students. I have had the opportunity to learn, and know the codes of various services that may be offered. I have the duty to oversee that the ARD documents are correct, coded correctly, and that the minutes reflect what the ARD documents have listed for the students when the Diagnostians bring them to be filed at Three Rivers Coop. I was able to rewrite and coordinate the District Dyslexia Plan. I revised and created new forms that were also utilized with the 504 program. I created notebooks of this District Plan for the GCISD School Board to have in order to view its contents and make an informed decision about the newly revised plan. I have worked in revising the new ESL/Bilingual plan for the district. I assisted various campuses during various times for TAKS administrations. I administered the TAKS test to those students who are taking the TAKS Dyslexia bundle at the MS campus, as I did in the school year. I had the opportunity to gain a vast amount of experience in creating agendas for meetings, making PowerPoint presentations, setting up for meetings, as well as writing minutes for meetings.

7 Explored various documents and records in order to locate and gather charts, information, and materials in order to aid the Grape Creek Business Manager with information need for SHARS and cost ratio reports. Established and collaborated with multiple programs such as DARS, and MHMR, along with numerous Universities, Colleges, and schools in creating opportunities for students served under the Special Education program umbrella within the Grape Creek and Miles school districts. Established close and long-term relationships with all students within the Special Education Program grades 7 through 12. Provided students with guidance and counseling services, career and college planning services, and assistance with any difficulties they may be faced with or challenged with. Reviewed and monitored ARD meetings, ARD documentation, and program services for students served in the Special Education Dept. at both Grape Creek ISD, and Miles ISD. Supported, supervised, trained, and provided resources and guidance for Special Education staff for both Miles ISD, and Grape Creek ISD. Created and implemented procedures, processes, and forms, to ensure diligence and compliance in providing student services, establish accountability, provide methods and best practices to ensure proper documentation, and program quality. Responsible for the collection, review, and submission of The State Performance Plan Compliance Indicators 7,11,12,13,14. Worked diligently as the liaison for all stakeholders involved in the planning, preparation, and of the successful transition of all students into life after high school. Assisted the Three Rivers Coop Director in overseeing and implementing Title I: Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged. Created, planned, and collaborated with surrounding School Districts, Educational Services Centers, Federal, State, and, Local agencies, State, County, and Local Community leaders and businesses in the development and implementation of an annual Transition Fair for students and families of special needs students.
