Services include counseling, independent living skills, drug/alcohol counseling, vocational/educational assistance, advocacy, and mediation. Willie's House of Imani 601 MLK Jr Way Tacoma, WA, Staffed residential program for young men between 16 and 18 years of age. Youth that are in the program must be able to live with minimal supervision, maintain a job or conduct daily work research. Residents of the program must attend workshops and study groups used to provide information that will prove vital to each youth in the program. Rescue Mission Jefferson Apartments 2336 South Jefferson Ave., Tacoma, WA Forty one low income studio apartments for disabled or special needs adults enable them to live independently, work and remain self sufficient while staying drug and alcohol free. Rescue Mission Colonial Apartments 701 Commerce St., Tacoma, WA Offers 44 affordable apartments for individuals moving from homelessness to permanent housing. Rescue Mission Tyler St. Family Campus Stabilizing and transitioning homeless families to permanent housing and self sufficiency. Case managers support families with weekly meetings to set goals, monitor progress and make plans for permanent housing and employment. Provides all utilities, local/long distance phone, Internet access with computer, laundry soap, all furnishings and food to housing residents. Applicant will be asked to complete an in person interview, although it may be done over the phone depending on location. Sliding Scale Rent based on income + $150 non refundable deposit. Program serves families with children (ages 18 and younger), who live in Pierce County with no criminal convictions in the past three years, no past evictions, no past due on utility bills, no negative credit report, no negative landlord or other reference. Not an emergency housing program. Program participants are required to work with a case manager and develop and follow a Housing Stability Plan which addresses short and long term barriers and goals. Sliding Scale Rent is based on income and family size. Veterans must have completed an acute treatment program, and be willing to participate in work therapy, AA or similar program, and group counseling. VIEW currently operates 6 therapeutic Residences, with a total of 32 bedrooms. Cost of transitional housing: $60 per week. Youth Resource /Pierce County Alliance: Tacoma Ave. S., Tacoma, WA M F, 8:30a.m. 5p.m. Offers a transitional living program for people coming out of foster care.
