2 Dear captains, Welcome to join in Shenzhen Airlines screening. During last five years, Shenzhen airlines have recruited more than 150 foreign pilots and it has abundant experience in screening. Concerning the sophistication of the whole process of screening, some tips and notes are for your reference and convenience. We would be happy if it offers help. The total screening process includes four parts, which are CAAC Medical Check, Theory Test, Simulator Check and ATP written test. The most important part is Simulator Check. According to previous statistics, the passing rate of screening is almost70%.so we suggest you attach importance to the screening and review the theory carefully. If you don t have confidence in Simulator Check, you d better have some training before the test. 3 How can I go to Shenzhen for the screening? 1. Chinese Visa Application Shenzhen Airlines (hereinafter referred to as SZA) or Flightcrew Resources International Limited (hereinafter referred to as FRI) will send an INVITATION LETTER to each candidate to facilitate the Chinese visa application at local Chinese Embassy. Most of the European countries can get the Chinese visa done in Hong Kong or Shenzhen, China. 1) Arrive Hong Kong with your current passport, and go to Chinese Embassy to apply for a tourist visa to enter main land. 2) You can take a subway from the airport to Wanchai station, and then go to the Embassy. (See below map) Ⅰ-3

4 3) Apply the tourist visa for 30 days with single entrance, get it in 1 day will cost around 150USD. ( need 1 blue background photo) 4) You can also go to the travel agency to apply the visa, it may cost a little bit more money, the travel agency is in the same building with the Embassy. Please find all the information in this web page: You can also get the Chinese visa done in Fuyong port, Shenzhen; contact us if you need this service. 2. Trip from home country to Shenzhen, China The best and easiest way to arrive in Shenzhen is through Hong Kong SAR or Beijing. 1) Pilot s home country >Hong Kong >Shenzhen 2) Pilot s home country > Beijing > Shenzhen Tips: If you prefer coming to Shenzhen via Hong Kong, we strongly suggest your arrival time in Hong Kong no later than 11:00 pm while you are booking your tickets because the latest transfer from Hong Kong to Shenzhen is 11:30pm and the latest ferry between Hong Kong airport and Shenzhen Airport is 10:15-20:20 3. Trip from Hong Kong to Shenzhen a. You can buy the ferry ticket at E2 on 5F arrival level. b. Take the shuttle Bus in the terminal of Hong Kong Airport Travel between Mainland China and Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is easy and convenient. The airport is the hub for direct and speedy land transport to major cities in Guangdong Province. Ⅰ-5

6 Coach services are available at the Mainland Coach Station of Terminal 2. Regular services depart from the airport between 0700 and 2300 to destinations such as Shenzhen. Ⅰ-6

7 Where can I stay? SUNWAY HOTEL Shenzhen airlines will arrange the Sunway hotel for you to stay during the screening. If you prefer other hotel, you need to pay by yourself. Free bus service of Sunway Hotel Logo on the shuttle bus 1) Pick-up service When you arrived in Shenzhen airport, please ask Shenzhen Airlines staff in the information counter in Terminal B to call to ask for a free pick-up to the hotel. The bus will be arrival outside Gate 5 in Terminal B. 2) Sunway Hotel free shuttle bus Every 30 minutes shuttle bus leaves for Shenzhen Airport (07:00-24:00) Bus leaves for FUYONG port 30 minutes before boat time (07:00-24:00) 3) To Shenzhen airlines base You can ask the hotel receptionist to arrange the shuttle bus anytime. 8 How can I get to FRI office? 1. Contact us after arriving Shenzhen. Please use the hotel telephone to contact us after you arrived in Shenzhen. Contact FRI office by or Skype:chinaflightcrew4 2. How to get to FRI office a. You can ask Sunway hotel to arrange the shuttle bus to send you to Shenzhen airlines base. b. Please ask the security guard of Shenzhen airlines to call 8842 or Hallen s mobile phone to confirm. c. FRI office address: Operating Building room 403 in Shenzhen airlines base (second building on the left). 3. Ticket reimbursement Please bring your passport, flight boarding pass, ferry ticket or the coach ticket with you, and submit them to FRI when you arrive at the office. Those tickets are for reimbursement, Shenzhen airlines will pay by cash (USD) before you leave. 4. Screening Guidance After you arrived in FRI office, we will give you a face to face screening guidance, with the explanation of the whole process by details. Ⅰ-8

10 Medical Check Location: Shenzhen / Beijing Require: Casual attire / No breakfast Time: Normally the medical check will start at 8:30 a.m. The medical check including below items: Blood test Urinalysis Resting ECG Type B Ultrasonic Chest X-ray Exercise Stress test (Treadmill) EEG Blood Pressure Pure Tone Audio metry Vision Tips: Sleep well Stop smoking for some days Take medicine 15days in advance if you have high blood pressure Get shaved (if necessary) for the check Bring your glass degree Prepare some cash (500 RMB) Ⅰ-10

11 Theory Test Location: Building 2, Room 411, Shenzhen airlines Require: Business attire It is an aircraft system test, which composed of 50 multiple choice questions covering the more major aircraft systems. Last for 1 hour. Written exam ( on paper ) Please go to this website to review: Ⅰ-11

12 Sim Check Location: Training building, 2nd Floor. Require: Business attire Arrive Time: 30 minutes before the check SZA provide 2 hours free SIM training. The SIM check will consist of 2 hrs. training+30 m pre-briefing+1 h operation+30 m post-briefing, totally 4 hrs. Normally the SIM check will not be the regular operation, most case is the emergency situation, e. x. Fly without FDin Circuit training with cross-wind 30kt and gusty wind or one engine failed approach without FD or visual pattern with one engine failed without FD FRI will provide SIM materials as well as the company normal operation procedures for you to study FRI will arrange the F.O. for the SIM, in order to better cooperate during the SIM check, please communicate & study with the F.O. in advance. FRI might invite the experienced foreign captain from SZA to give advice to you before the SIM if applicable. Ⅰ-12

13 CAAC ATP Written Test Location: Training building 4 th. floor. Time: 2.5 hours Require: 30 minutes before the test Need to bring: 2 passport photos with dark blue background. Your own passport and pen. Tips and requirements: The test will be done on computer, do not exit program until all the questions answered. You are not allowed to bring calculator with you, instead, you can use the calculator software in computer. If some questions you are not sure, please choose one answer, and then click MARK button. After you finish all questions, you can go back to all the questions marked, think it over again and choose the answer one more time. Your test result is immediately provided on your screen after completion. You are required to get at least 70 grades to pass the test. 28 more days you have to wait for another chance if you failed this time. Ⅰ-13

16 License Confirmation Congratulations that you pass the above screening items! You are so close to get this job! Next, you will take the CAAC check and register directly if you pass the check. In order to apply the CAAC check for you, Shenzhen airlines needs to get the License Confirmation Letter from the Civil Aviation Administration Office in your country. We may need you to contact the office of your country if they don t reply timely. (You will be informed if we need you to coordinate this issue) CAAC Simulator Check The CAAC Simulator check is the last step of the screening. It will take 2 hours. In order to help candidates to pass the test, Shenzhen airlines will arrange 2 hours practice before the test. Materials prepared 1. You should provide 24 photos as the following requirement. Ⅰ-16

17 2. Also, in order to apply for Chinese ATPL, you should fill in P1 and P2 forms before CAAC Simulator check ride. Sample: P1 Sample: P2 Ⅰ-17

18 Documents for Registration 1. No Criminal Certificate The No Criminal Certificate must be issued by the government in your nationality country. Get it translated into Chinese. Get it notarized by Chinese Embassy in your country. Valid for 6 months from the issued date, so please don t issue this document too early; just 3-4 weeks before you come to register should be fine. *FRI will provide the sample for your reference. 19 2. No Accident/Incident Record No Accident/Incident Record shall be issued by your previous company. Must cover 3 years without time gap, if you worked for 2 or more companies during last 3 years, we need all companies No Accident Records. Should be signed by the chief pilot or flight management manager in your previous company. The sentence Also, Captain has no history of violation of civil aviation security laws and regulations since (Month Year) should be exactly the same added into the record. *FRI will provide the sample for your reference. 20 Other Tips and Issues 1. Family Visa (Residence Permit) If you would like to bring your family to live with you in China, you need to prepare your Marriage Certificate and each of your children s Birth Certificate, get it translated into Chinese and get it notarized by the Chinese embassy in your country before you come. 2. Sign the Contract with FRI and Salary Starts After you arrive with No Criminal and No Accident Records, if you pass the CAAC check, sign the contract with FRI and be able to stay for the probationary period, you are consider as officially register, the salary will start on the day before you do the CAAC check. 3. Tickets and Hotels (Register) For the registration ticket, Shenzhen airlines will reimburse 1/2 of the price if you buy a round trip.. Ⅰ-20
