3 Installation Prerequisites Software Requirements Before installing Datex software, it is important that the servers to be deployed are prepared with the appropriate services and updates. Application Server General Requirements Windows 2003 or 2008 Operating System with the latest Service Pack Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 with Service Pack 1 Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 Microsoft IIS 6 or higher ASP.NET and ASP Web Service Extensions Allowed Database Server General Requirements Windows 2003 or 2008 Operating System with the latest Service Pack Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 with Service Pack 1 Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 2 or higher / Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Mixed mode user authentication allowed Microsoft IIS 6 or higher ASP.NET and ASP Web Service Extensions Allowed Microsoft SQL Reporting Services Application Server/ DB Server (Single Server) Requirements for 1 to 5 Users o Single Processor Quad Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHZ or higher o 16 GB RAM Memory or higher o 146 GB Hard Drive with Raid or higher 2003/2008 Standard 64bit Operating System o Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 Standard Edition o Please see the General requirements

5 Additional Server Requirements (For Multi Warehouse Environment) Terminal Server o Dual Processor Quad Core Intel Xeon 2.8 GHZ or higher o 16GB RAM Memory or higher o 500 GB Hard Drive with Raid or higher 2003/2008 Standard 64bit Operating System o Windows Terminal Server Software and License Recommended Desktop Requirements 2GB Memory Intel Core 2 Duo CPU 100MBPS Network Card 500MB Disk Space Windows XP/Vista/7 Basic Screen Resolution is 1280x800 on the Desktops with FootPrint Remote Access Information Type of access: (remote desktop/ciscovpn) External IP: (remote desktop IP or VPN IP) Login: Password: Application Server Information App Server Name: IP address: Windows Login: (ex. Datexuser) Windows Password: Windows Domain: Windows user must have Administrative rights to install (can be a specific user for Datex staff)

6 SQL Server Information DB Server Name: IP address: Windows Login: (ex. Datexuser) Windows Password: Windows Domain: Footprint Portal Server Information (Optional, if the same as the app server, please indicate) Portal Server Name: IP address: Windows Login: (ex. Datexuser) Windows Password: Windows Domain: Windows user must have Administrative rights to install (can be a specific user for Datex staff)

7 Login Requirements For the operation of Footprint, the following logins must be created Active Directory Accounts Please make sure that the following users and group are available before the installation date. o Create a Domain user account for Datex to access the application server and database server. This user must have administrator access to the application server, database server and the sql reporting services. Windows Username: (eg.datexadmin) Windows Password: Domain: o Create a new FootPrintService domain user account. Make it a member of the FootPrintUsers group. This account will be used to run all of the FootPrint services hosted on the application server. Windows Username: FootPrintService Windows Password: Domain: o Create a new FootPrintUsers group. Add all FootPrint users' accounts to it.

8 Folder Structure Requirements The following folder structure is suggested for Footprint installation. Make note that this document is written using this folder structure. It is recommended that all deviations are documented in Appendix A for future server maintenance if an alternate folder structure is employed Application Server Path Folder Description C:\Data Root Folder ( can be stored on C: or D: ) C:\Data\DatexInstalls C:\Data\DatexInstalls\FootPrint Share this folder to footprintusers group with read access. This will host the installation files.
