1 Student Enrollment, Retention and Graduation Rates Fall 2014 Enrollment Data Kellogg Community College operates on a traditional academic year calendar with three semesters (fall, spring and summer). The student to faculty ratio is determined by dividing the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) faculty (full-time plus on-third of part-time faculty) by the number of FTE students (full-time plus on-third of part-time students). For this measure we look at the total of full-time and part-time students who are taking courses for credit (as opposed to 0 credit or CEU courses). In the table below, we look at persistence from the fall 2013 semester to the spring 2014 semester. The students calculated in the rate below enrolled in KCC in the fall 2011 semester. There were 456 first-time, full-time degree- or certificate-seeking students; 62 graduated from KCC within 150% (3 years). In fact, 71% of all students at KCC are enrolled part-time. Therefore, if we

5 track both full-time and part-time students who are pursuing a certificate or a degree and who entered any college for the first time during the fall 2008 semester, we are able to include the success of the part-time degree- or certificate-seeking student at KCC.
