This screw optimizes mixing and melt homogeneity through a barrier mixing section at the discharge end of the screw where the roots incorporate a matrix of eccentric flats. With the Barrier IV Mixing Screw, the pellets and melt are not separated but use the high viscosity of the melt to knead the plastics. The result is a high quality melt at low temperatures and an improved recovery rate of up to 20%. 14
