1 Up or out ETH Zurich s policy and practice for the career advancement of Post Docs CESAER HR Workshop Post Doc career paths 7 October 2015, KU Leuven Dr. Olga Pardo, Senior Consultant Organisational and Personnel Development, HR ETH Zurich Dr. Olga Pardo
2 Dear all, (...) I wanted to express my gratitude to you for the great job you do at the HR and Fix the Leaky Pipeline in supporting and advising women (and people in general) who want to pursue a career in academia. I have myself just obtained my first tenured track position on the first try competing with over 80 other applicants from all over the world, and I am sure that this had not been possible without the support and guidance I have received from wonderful women such as yourselves who have been not only fantastic teachers but great role models. I specially wanted to thank you for creating spaces where female scientists can take some time from their busy working schedules in order to meet and discuss about the challenges of staying in science as a woman and how to overcome them. Speaking with others I found a lot of answers, felt supported and was able to build my selfconfidence in order to take the big step of applying for a permanent position. So big thanks to you all for making this possible. With all my best wishes to each and every single one of you, Andrea (25 September 2015) Dr. Olga Pardo
