5 Currently, in Germany, there are several different paths in academia Classically: Doctorate, Assistant, Habilitation Recently: Research group leader Recently: Juniorprofessor (with/without tenure track) New in Konstanz: Zukunftskolleg! 5

6 What does the Zukunftskolleg offer Postdoctoral Fellowships for 2 years, Research Fellowships for 5 years (with a successful grant) support for consumables, personnel, travel, etc. open to ALL disciplines of the University (humanities, social sciences, natural sciences) interdisciplinary discourse in our jour fixe and informally a group of established Senior Fellows, invited by the Research Fellows. 6
